Claims
- 1. A compound of the formula ##STR13## wherein R.sub.1 is 2-phenylethyl-mercapto; 3-phenylpropyl-mercapto; 1-(methyl-phenyl)-ethyl-mercapto; (unsubstituted or mono-substituted phenyl)-mercapto, where the substituent is fluorine, chlorine, bromine, methyl, hydroxyl or methoxy; (unsubstituted or mono-substituted benzyl)-mercapto, where the substituent is attached to the phenyl moiety and is fluorine, chlorine, methyl, methoxy or trifluoro-methyl; dichlorobenzyl-mercapto; or dimethoxybenzylmercapto;
- R.sub.2 is thiomorpholino-1-oxide or thiomorpholino-1,1-dioxide; and
- R.sub.3 is hydrogen or formyl;
- or a non-toxic, pharmacologically acceptable acid addition salt thereof.
- 2. A compound of claim 1, where
- R.sub.1 is 2-phenylethyl-mercapto; 3-phenylpropyl-mercapto; 1-(methyl-phenyl)-ethyl-mercapto; (unsubstituted or mono-substituted phenyl)-mercapto, where the substituent is fluorine, chlorine, bromine, methyl, hydroxyl or methoxy; (unsubstituted or mono-substituted benzyl)-mercapto, where the substituent is attached to the phenyl moiety and is fluorine, chlorine, methyl, methoxy or trifluoro-methyl; dichlorobenzyl-mercapto; or dimethoxybenzyl-mercapto;
- R.sub.2 is thiomorpholin-1-oxide; and
- R.sub.3 is hydrogen or formyl;
- or a non-toxic, pharmacologically acceptable acid addition salt thereof.
- 3. A compound of claim 1, where
- R.sub.1 is 2-phenylethyl-mercapto; 3-phenylpropyl-mercapto; 1-(methyl-phenyl)-ethyl-mercapto; (unsubstituted or mono-substituted phenyl)-mercapto, where the substituent is fluorine, chlorine, bromine, methyl, hydroxyl or methoxy; (unsubstituted or mono-substituted benzyl)-mercapto, where the substituent is attached to the phenyl moiety and is fluorine, chlorine, methyl, methoxy or trifluoro-methyl; dichlorobenzyl-mercapto; or dimethoxybenzyl-mercapto;
- R.sub.2 is thiomorpholino-1-oxide; and
- R.sub.3 is hydrogen;
- or a non-toxic, pharmacologically acceptable acid addition salt thereof.
- 4. A compound of claim 1, where
- R.sub.1 is phenylthio; benzylthio, methoxybenzylthio; fluorobenzylthio; chlorobenzylthio, dichlorobenzylthio or 2-phenylethylthio;
- R.sub.2 is thiomorpholino-1-oxide; and
- R.sub.3 is hydrogen;
- or a non-toxic, pharmacologically acceptable acid addition salt thereof.
- 5. A compound of claim 1, which is 4-(1-oxido-thiomorpholino)-8-(2-phenylethyl-mercapto)-2-piperazino-pyrimidino-[5,4-d]pyrimidine, or a non-toxic, pharmacologically acceptable acid addition salt thereof.
- 6. A compound of claim 1, which is 8-benzylthio-4-(1-oxido-thiomorpholino)-2-piperazino-pyrimido[5,4-d]-pyrimidine or a non-toxic, pharmacologically acceptable acid addition salt thereof.
- 7. An antithrombotic pharmaceutical composition consisting essentially of an inert pharmaceutical carrier and an effective antithrombotic amount of a compound of claim 1.
- 8. The method of preventing or relieving thrombosis in a warm-blooded animal in need thereof, which comprises perorally, parenterally or rectally administering to said animal an effective antithrombotic amount of a compound of claim 1.
