Claims
- 1. 3,7-disubstituted-3-cephem-4-carboxylic acid (syn isomer) compounds of the formula: ##STR7## wherein R.sup.1 is 1,2,3-thiadiazolyl;
- R.sup.2 is lower alkyl;
- R.sup.3 is carboxy or carboxy group protected by an eliminatable protective group; and
- R.sup.4 is tetrazolylthio which may be substituted with lower alkyl or di(lower)alkylamino(lower)alkyl; and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.
- 2. The compounds of claim 1, wherein R.sup.3 is carboxy.
- 3. The compounds of claim 2, wherein R.sup.4 is tetrazolylthio having a lower alkyl or a di(lower)alkylamino(lower)alkyl.
- 4. The compounds of claim 3, wherein R.sup.2 is methyl, and R.sup.4 is 1H-tetrazolylthio having a methyl or a dimethylaminoethyl.
- 5. The compound of claim 4, which is 7-[2-methoxyimino-2-(1,2,3-thiadiazol-4-yl)acetamido]-3-(1-methyl-1H-tetrazol-5-yl)thiomethyl-3-cephem-4-carboxylic acid (syn isomer.)
- 6. The compound of claim 4, which is 7-[2-methoxyimino-2-(1,2,3-thiadiazol-4-yl)acetamido]-3-[1-(2-dimethylaminoethyl)-1H-tetrazol-5-yl]thiomethyl-3-cephem-4-carboxylic acid (syn isomer).
- 7. An antibacterial composition comprising a compound of claim 1 in association with a pharmaceutically acceptable, substantially non-toxic carrier or excipient.
