Claims
- 1. Ski boot comprising a shell base covering a rigid sole comprising at least one zone which cooperates with at least one support plate of a binding, wherein at least in said zone, said sole comprises at least one shock absorption apparatus located within the thickness of said sole and including:
- (a) at least one rigid rib having a width dimension less than that of the width of the sole, at least a portion of said at least one rigid rib being in said zone; and
- (b) at least one elastically deformable insert positioned in a corresponding cut-out in the sole adjacent to the rib, wherein said at least one elastically deformable insert comprises a compressible element in the cut-out in said sole, wherein said sole includes a walking surface, and wherein a surface of said compressible element and a surface of said at least one rigid rib are substantially coextensive with said walking surface;
- whereby said compressible element absorbs shocks encountered during skiing when said sole pivots about said at least one rigid rib, while said at least one zone remains rigid in cooperation with the at least one support plate of the binding under all conditions encountered during skiing.
- 2. Ski boot according to claim 1, wherein said at least one zone comprises a front support zone and wherein said shock absorption apparatus is positioned in said front support zone of said sole.
- 3. Ski boot according to claim 1, wherein said at least one zone comprises a rear support zone, and wherein said shock absorption apparatus is positioned in said rear support zone of said sole.
- 4. Ski boot according to claim 1, wherein said sole comprises two ends and a shock absorption apparatus at each of said two ends.
- 5. Ski boot according to claim 1, wherein said at least one elastically deformable insert extends on each side of said rigid rib.
- 6. Ski boot according to claim 1, wherein said at least one elastically deformable insert comprises at least two elastically deformable inserts which are symmetrically shaped relative to said rigid rib.
- 7. Ski boot according to claim 1, wherein said at least one elastically deformable insert comprises at least two elastically deformable inserts which are asymmetrically shaped relative to said rigid rib.
- 8. Ski boot according to claim 7, wherein one of said at least two elastically deformable inserts is larger, wherein said ski boot comprises an internal side, and wherein said larger elastically deformable insert is situated on said internal side of said ski boot.
- 9. Ski boot according to claim 7, wherein one of said at least two elastically deformable inserts is larger, wherein said ski boot comprises an external side, and wherein said larger elastically deformable insert is situated on said external side of said ski boot.
- 10. Ski boot according to claim 1, wherein said sole comprises at least one end plate attached to said shell base, said end plate comprising a shock absorption apparatus provided in its thickness.
- 11. Ski boot according to claim 10, wherein said at least one elastically deformable insert of said shock absorption apparatus is positioned in a cut-out provided in an upper surface of said end plate.
- 12. Ski boot according to claim 10, wherein said at least one elastically deformable insert of said shock absorption apparatus is positioned in a cut-out provided in a walking surface of said end plate.
