The present invention relates generally to the field of garment devices. More specifically, the present invention relates to a garment that accommodates children with sensory disorders that may often remove their clothing. Accordingly, this disclosure makes specific reference thereto the present invention. Nonetheless, it is to be appreciated that aspects of the present invention are also equally applicable to other like applications, devices and methods of manufacture.
By way of background, this invention relates to improvements in garment devices. Children with moderate to severe autism or other sensory processing disorders often exhibit behaviors that can be challenging for caregivers, one of which is the tendency to remove their clothing in inappropriate situations. This behavior can occur in public settings, at home, or even while sleeping, causing not only discomfort for the child but also potential embarrassment for their caregivers. Additionally, some children may go beyond simply undressing and engage in behaviors such as playing with the contents of their diapers, including liquid or solid waste. This creates an unsanitary environment that can be difficult to manage and clean, posing health risks to both the child and those around them.
Traditional clothing, designed with easy fastenings such as buttons, zippers, or elastic waistbands, may be readily removed by these children, regardless of the situation. This can lead to frequent episodes of undressing, causing distress in social or family environments. Caregivers often struggle to find solutions that effectively keep children dressed while still maintaining their comfort, safety, and dignity. As a result, this behavior can create ongoing challenges in daily life, requiring constant vigilance and intervention to prevent embarrassing or unsanitary incidents. In more severe cases, this can significantly disrupt routines, lead to isolation, and create emotional strain for families seeking to manage these complex behaviors.

The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises a concealed fastener one-piece garment device. The device is comprised of an outfit designed for autistic children who have the tendency to remove their clothing and play with their waste. The device comprises a romper that resembles a shirt and pants. The romper is comprised of a soft, tight, and stretchy material for children with sensory processing disorders. The top portion of the outfit will hang over the bottom part of the romper with a fake zipper and pockets. Fake buttons can cover up the hidden zipper underneath.
