Claims
- 1. A process for producing a fluorinated compound comprising contacting a compound of the formula ##EQU1## wherein each of R and R.sup.1, alike or different, is a primary alkyl group of up to 4 carbon atoms or when taken together are --(CH.sub.2).sub.4 -- or --(CH.sub.2).sub.5 -- with a monomeric reactant selected from the group consisting of an aldehyde, ketone and carboxylic acid, under substantially anhydrous conditions at a temperature range of -100.degree. to +100.degree.C.
- 2. The process of claim 1 carried out at -20.degree. to +80.degree.C.
- 3. The process of claim 1 wherein the said reactant is an aldehyde.
- 4. The process of claim 1 wherein the said reactant is a carboxylic acid.
- 5. The process of claim 1 wherein the said reactant is a ketone.
