Claims
- 1. An electronic package having an interior cavity for containing at least one electronic device and having an exterior space, said cavity capable of trapping molecular hydrogen therein, said package comprising
- a wall defining said cavity and separating said cavity from said exterior space, said at least one electronic device disposed on an interior surface of said wall within said cavity of said package, and
- a hydrogen window means having an interior surface exposed to said cavity and an exterior surface exposed to said exterior space, said interior surface dissociating said molecular hydrogen into atomic hydrogen, said hydrogen window means for diffusing said atomic hydrogen from said interior surface to said exterior surface there recombining said atomic hydrogen back into molecular hydrogen and out venting said molecular hydrogen into said exterior space.
- 2. The electronic package of claim 1 wherein said wall has a lid portion and a base portion, said hydrogen window means also being said lid portion made of hydrogen catalytic material.
- 3. The electronic package of claim 1 wherein said wall has a lid portion supporting said hydrogen window means and a base portion supporting said at least one electronic device.
- 4. The electronic package of claim 1 wherein said hydrogen window means comprises palladium as a surface hydrogen catalysis material for dissociating molecular hydrogen into atomic hydrogen diffusing through said hydrogen window means and for recombining said atomic hydrogen back into molecular hydrogen out venting to said exterior space.
- 5. The electronic package of claim 1 wherein said hydrogen window means comprises platinum as a surface hydrogen catalysis material for dissociating molecular hydrogen into atomic hydrogen diffusing through said hydrogen window means and for recombining said atomic hydrogen back into molecular hydrogen out venting to said exterior space.
- 6. The electronic package of claim 1 wherein said hydrogen window means comprises a surface hydrogen catalysis and an adhesion material for bonding said surface hydrogen catalysis to said wall.
- 7. The electronic package of claim 1 wherein said hydrogen window means comprises
- a palladium catalysis material as a surface hydrogen catalysis, and
- a chromium adhesion material for bonding said palladium catalysis material to said wall.
- 8. The electronic package of claim 1 wherein said wall has a lid portion and a base portion supporting said electronic device, said hydrogen window means comprising,
- an exterior catalytic plate disposed on a lid exterior surface of said lid portion and having a plate exterior surface exposed to said exterior space, and
- an interior catalytic plate disposed on a lid interior surface of said lid portion and in alignment with said exterior catalytic plate and having a plate interior surface exposed to said cavity, said plate interior surface dissociating said molecular hydrogen into atomic hydrogen, said hydrogen window for diffusing said atomic hydrogen from said plate interior surface to said plate exterior surface there recombining said atomic hydrogen back into molecular hydrogen and out venting said molecular hydrogen into said exterior space.
- 9. The electronic package of claim 1 wherein said wall has a lid portion having an aperture and a base portion supporting said at least one electronic device, said hydrogen window means comprising a plate covering said aperture, said plate having a plate exterior surface exposed to said exterior space and a plate interior surface expose to said cavity, said plate interior surface dissociating said molecular hydrogen into atomic hydrogen for diffusing through said plate from said plate interior surface to said plate exterior surface there recombining said atomic hydrogen back into molecular hydrogen and out venting said molecular hydrogen into said exterior space.
- 10. The electronic package of claim 1 wherein said wall has a lid portion having an aperture and a base portion supporting said electronic device, said hydrogen window is a plug disposed said aperture, said plug having a plug exterior surface exposed to said exterior space and a plug interior surface expose to said cavity, said plug interior surface dissociating said molecular hydrogen into atomic hydrogen for diffusing through said plug from said plug interior surface to said plug exterior surface there recombining said atomic hydrogen back into molecular hydrogen and out venting said molecular hydrogen into said exterior space.
