Claims
- 1. An enclosure assembly for optical fibre splices or other optical fibre components, the assembly comprising a plurality of trays disposed in a stack and pivotally mounted to an upright support, means enabling said trays to rest in a by a pivotal mounting means. downwardly inclined orientation and means for holding said trays, alternatively, in an upwardly inclined orientation.
- 2. An enclosure assembly according to claim 1, wherein:
- each of said plurality of trays has at least one opening formed in a floor of said tray and open to a periphery of said tray to enable at least one optical fibre to pass from one tray to an adjacent tray along a path tangential to said one tray and said adjacent tray.
- 3. An enclosure assembly according to claim 2, wherein:
- on each of said plurality of trays, said opening is positioned adjacent said pivotal mounting means.
- 4. An enclosure assembly according to claim 2, wherein:
- on each of said plurality of trays, said opening of said tray is closed by an element frangibly connected to said tray.
- 5. An enclosure assembly according to claim 4, wherein:
- each of said plurality of trays has a major axis with two ends and an upstanding peripheral wall which is formed adjacent at least one said two ends, said peripheral wall having at least one entry for optical fibres.
- 6. An enclosure assembly according to claim 1, wherein:
- each of said plurality of trays has a floor, at least one portion of said floor provided with means for retaining optical fibre splices or other optical fibre components, said at least one portion being frangibly connected to said floor and replaceable by alternative retaining means.
