Claims
- 1. An oxygen concentration sensor having a sensing element which includes an electrochemical oxygen pumping cell having an oxygen-ion conductive first solid electrolyte layer, and a first and a second electrode disposed on said first solid electrolyte layer, an electrochemical oxygen sensing cell having an oxygen-ion conductive second solid electrolyte layer and a third and a fourth electrode disposed on said second solid electrolyte layer, and diffusion-resistance means for introducing an external measurement gas under a predetermined diffusion resistance, for contact with said second and third electrodes;
- wherein at least one pair of electrodes selected from the group consisting of said first and second electrodes of said oxygen pumping cell and said third and fourth electrodes of said oxygen sensing cell consist of metal grains each having minute cracks on a surface thereof.
- 2. An oxygen concentration sensor according to claim 1, wherein both of said metal grains of said second electrode of said oxygen pumping cell and said metal grains of said third electrode of said oxygen sensing cell have said minute cracks.
- 3. An oxygen concentration sensor according to claim 1, wherein said minute cracks have a depth of about 0.1-1 .mu.m.
