Claims
- 1. A clip for securing a picket cap to a profile of a picket fence, said picket cap including a top cap portion, and a bottom portion having at least two opposing tabs for insertion into a end opening of a profile, said clip comprising:
a U-shaped piece of material configured for frictionally fitting onto said tabs; a front face having a topmost first barb portion including one or more teeth-like projections bent away from an interior portion, for digging into an inside opposing wall portion of the profile to prevent removal of the associated picket cap therefrom; and a back face having at least one second barb portion formed thereon bent into an interior portion in a manner permitting said clip to be pushed onto a said opposing tab, but preventing the removal of said clip therefrom by digging into the material of an inside wall portion of an associated said opposing tab in the event an attempt is made to move an installed clip off of the associated said opposing tab.
- 2. A clip for securing a cap member to a profile of a fence assembly, said cap member includes a top cap portion and a bottom cap portion configured to be mounted over a top end opening of the profile, said clip comprising:
a U-shaped piece of material configured for frictionally fitting an edge portion of the top end opening of the profile; a front face having a topmost first barb portion including one or more projections bent away from an interior portion, for digging into an inside opposing wall portion of the cap member to prevent removal from the associated top end opening of the vertical profile; and a back face having at least one second barb portion formed thereon bent into an interior portion in a manner permitting said clip to be pushed onto said edge portion of the top end opening of the profile, but preventing the removal of said clip therefrom by digging into the material of an inside wall portion of an associated edge portion of the top end opening of the vertical profile in the event an attempt is made to move an installed clip off of the associated said edge portion of the vertical profile.
- 3. The clip of claim 2, wherein the topmost first barb portion is comprised of one or more teeth.
- 4. The clip of claim 2, wherein the topmost first barb portion is comprised of a ledge extending therealong.
