Claims
- 1. A bottle comprisingan outer shell comprising a molded plastic; and a diamond-like carbon film bonded to an inside surface of the outer shell, wherein the diamond-like carbon film is formed by a process comprising placing the outer shell into a chamber; providing a vacuum in the chamber; introducing a gas comprising carbon into the chamber; and applying high frequency electric power between an internal electrode placed in the outer shell and an external electrode insulated from the internal electrode to form the diamond-like carbon film only on the inside surface of the outer shell, and the diamond-like carbon film restrains adsorption by the bottle of an aroma component, which comprises low molecular organic compounds, to effectively zero.
- 2. The bottle according to claim 1, wherein the bottle is a bottle used for beverages.
- 3. The bottle according to claim 1, wherein the bottle is a returnable bottle.
- 4. The bottle according to claim 1, whereinthe aroma component comprises d-limonene; and the diamond-like carbon film restrains adsorption of the d-limonene by the bottle to effectively zero.
- 5. The bottle according to claim 1, wherein the diamond-like carbon film is from 0.05 to 5 μm thick.
- 6. The bottle according to claim 1, wherein the diamond-like carbon film has a density greater than or equal to 1.54 g/cm3.
- 7. The bottle according to claim 1, wherein the plastic comprises at least one member selected from the group consisting of polyethylene resin, polypropylene resin, polystyrene resin, cycloolefin copolymer resin, polyethylene terephthalate resin, polyethylene naphthalate resin, ethylene-(vinyl alcohol) copolymer resin, poly-4-methylpentene-1 resin, poly(methylmethacrylate) resin, acrylonitrile resin, polyvinyl chloride resin, polyvinylidene chloride resin, styrene-acrylonitrile resin, acrylonitrile-butadien-styrene resin, polyamide resin, polyamideimide resin, polyacetal resin, polycarbonate resin, polybutylene terephthalate resin, ionomer resin, polysulfone resin and polytetrafluoroethylene resin.
- 8. The bottle according to claim 1, whereinone end of the chamber is formed by a cover; and the outer shell is placed into the chamber via an opening formed when the cover is removed from the end of the chamber.
- 9. A bottle comprisingan outer shell comprising a molded plastic; and a diamond-like carbon film bonded to an inside surface of the outer shell, wherein the diamond-like carbon film is formed by a process comprising placing the outer shell into a chamber; providing a vacuum in the chamber; introducing a gas comprising carbon into the chamber; and applying high frequency electric power between an internal electrode placed in the outer shell and an external electrode insulated from the internal electrode to form the diamond-like carbon film only on the inside surface of the outer shell, and the diamond-like carbon film restrains adsorption by the bottle of an aroma component, which comprises low molecular organic compounds, to below a detectable limit.
- 10. The bottle according to claim 9, wherein the bottle is a bottle used for beverages.
- 11. The bottle according to claim 9, wherein the bottle is a returnable bottle.
- 12. The bottle according to claim 9, whereinthe aroma component comprises d-limonene; and the diamond-like carbon film restrains adsorption of the d-limonene by the bottle to below a detectable limit.
- 13. The bottle according to claim 9, wherein the diamond-like carbon film is from 0.05 to 5 μm thick.
- 14. The bottle according to claim 9, wherein the diamond-like carbon film has a density greater than or equal to 1.54 g/cm3.
- 15. The bottle according to claim 9, wherein the plastic comprises at least one member selected from the group consisting of polyethylene resin, polypropylene resin, polystyrene resin, cycloolefin copolymer resin, polyethylene terephthalate resin, polyethylene naphthalate resin, ethylene-(vinyl alcohol) copolymer resin, poly-4-methylpentene-1 resin, poly(methylmethacrylate) resin, acrylonitrile resin, polyvinyl chloride resin, polyvinylidene chloride resin, styrene-acrylonitrile resin, acrylonitrile-butadien-styrene resin, polyamide resin, polyamideimide resin, polyacetal resin, polycarbonate resin, polybutylene terephthalate resin, ionomer resin, polysulfone resin and polytetrafluoroethylene resin.
- 16. The bottle according to claim 9, whereinone end of the chamber is formed by a cover; and the outer shell is placed into the chamber via an opening formed when the cover is removed from the end of the chamber.
- 17. A bottle comprisingan outer shell comprising a molded plastic; and a diamond-like carbon film bonded to an inside surface of the outer shell, wherein the diamond-like carbon film is formed by a process comprising placing the outer shell into a chamber; providing a vacuum in the chamber; introducing a gas comprising carbon into the chamber; and generating plasma by exciting the gas to form the diamond-like carbon film only on the inside surface of the outer shell, and the diamond-like carbon film restrains adsorption by the bottle of an aroma component, which comprises low molecular organic compounds, to effectively zero.
- 18. The bottle according to claim 17, wherein the bottle is a bottle used for beverages.
- 19. The bottle according to claim 17, wherein the bottle is a returnable bottle.
- 20. The bottle according to claim 17, whereinthe aroma component comprises d-limonene; and the diamond-like carbon film restrains adsorption of the d-limonene by the bottle to effectively zero.
- 21. The bottle according to claim 17, wherein the diamond-like carbon film is from 0.05 to 5 μm thick.
- 22. The bottle according to claim 17, wherein the diamond-like carbon film has a density greater than or equal to 1.54 g/cm3.
- 23. The bottle according to claim 17, wherein the plastic comprises at least one member selected from the group consisting of polyethylene resin, polypropylene resin, polystyrene resin, cycloolefin copolymer resin, polyethylene terephthalate resin, polyethylene naphthalate resin, ethylene-(vinyl alcohol) copolymer resin, poly-4-methylpentene-1 resin, poly(methylmethacrylate) resin, acrylonitrile resin, polyvinyl chloride resin, polyvinylidene chloride resin, styrene-acrylonitrile resin, acrylonitrile-butadien-styrene resin, polyamide resin, polyamideimide resin, polyacetal resin, polycarbonate resin, polybutylene terephthalate resin, ionomer resin, polysulfone resin and polytetrafluoroethylene resin.
- 24. The bottle according to claim 17, whereinone end of the chamber is formed by a cover; and the outer shell is placed into the chamber via an opening formed when the cover is removed from the end of the chamber.
- 25. A bottle comprisingan outer shell comprising a molded plastic; and a diamond-like carbon film bonded to an inside surface of the outer shell, wherein the diamond-like carbon film is formed by a process comprising placing the outer shell into a chamber; providing a vacuum in the chamber; introducing a gas comprising carbon into the chamber; and generating plasma by exciting the gas to form the diamond-like carbon film only on the inside surface of the outer shell, and the diamond-like carbon film restrains adsorption by the bottle of an aroma component, which comprises low molecular organic compounds, to below a detectable limit.
- 26. The bottle according to claim 25, wherein the bottle is a bottle used for beverages.
- 27. The bottle according to claim 25, wherein the bottle is a returnable bottle.
- 28. The bottle according to claim 25, whereinthe aroma component comprises d-limonene; and the diamond-like carbon film restrains adsorption of the d-limonene by the bottle to below a detectable limit.
- 29. The bottle according to claim 25, wherein the diamond-like carbon film is from 0.05 to 5 μm thick.
- 30. The bottle according to claim 25, wherein the diamond-like carbon film has a density greater than or equal to 1.54 g/cm3.
- 31. The bottle according to claim 25, wherein the plastic comprises at least one member selected from the group consisting of polyethylene resin, polypropylene resin, polystyrene resin, cycloolefin copolymer resin, polyethylene terephthalate resin, polyethylene naphthalate resin, ethylene-(vinyl alcohol) copolymer resin, poly-4-methylpentene-1 resin, poly(methylmethacrylate) resin, acrylonitrile resin, polyvinyl chloride resin, polyvinylidene chloride resin, styrene-acrylonitrile resin, acrylonitrile-butadien-styrene resin, polyamide resin, polyamideimide resin, polyacetal resin, polycarbonate resin, polybutylene terephthalate resin, ionomer resin, polysulfone resin and polytetrafluoroethylene resin.
- 32. The bottle according to claim 25, whereinone end of the chamber is formed by a cover; and the outer shell is placed into the chamber via an opening formed when the cover is removed from the end of the chamber.
- 33. A bottle comprisingan outer shell comprising a molded plastic; and a diamond-like carbon film bonded to an inside surface of the outer shell, wherein the diamond-like carbon film restrains adsorption by the bottle of an aroma component, which comprises low molecular organic compounds, to effectively zero; and the diamond-like carbon film reduces permeability of oxygen through the outer shell into the bottle by a factor of from 4.9 to 34.
- 34. The bottle according to claim 33, wherein the bottle is a bottle used for beverages.
- 35. The bottle according to claim 33, wherein the bottle is a returnable bottle.
- 36. The bottle according to claim 33, whereinthe aroma component comprises d-limonene; and the diamond-like carbon film restrains adsorption of the d-limonene by the bottle to effectively zero.
- 37. The bottle according to claim 33, wherein the diamond-like carbon film is from 0.05 to 5 μm thick.
- 38. The bottle according to claim 33, wherein the diamond-like carbon film has a density greater than or equal to 1.54 g/cm3.
- 39. The bottle according to claim 33, wherein the plastic comprises at least one member selected from the group consisting of polyethylene resin, polypropylene resin, polystyrene resin, cycloolefin copolymer resin, polyethylene terephthalate resin, polyethylene naphthalate resin, ethylene-(vinyl alcohol) copolymer resin, poly-4-methylpentene-1 resin, poly(methylmethacrylate) resin, acrylonitrile resin, polyvinyl chloride resin, polyvinylidene chloride resin, styrene-acrylonitrile resin, acrylonitrile-butadien-styren resin, polyamide resin, polyamideimide resin, polyacetal resin, polycarbonate resin, polybutylene terephthalate resin, ionomer resin, polysulfone resin and polytetrafluoroethylene resin.
- 40. The bottle according to claim 33, whereinone end of the chamber is formed by a cover; and the outer shell is placed into the chamber via an opening formed when the cover is removed from the end of the chamber.
- 41. A bottle comprisingan outer shell comprising a molded plastic; and a diamond-like carbon film bonded to an inside surface of the outer shell, wherein the diamond-like carbon film restrains adsorption by the bottle of an aroma component, which comprises low molecular organic compounds, to below a detectable limit; and the diamond-like carbon film reduces permeability of oxygen through the outer shell into the bottle by a factor of from 4.9 to 34.
- 42. The bottle according to claim 41, wherein the bottle is a bottle used for beverages.
- 43. The bottle according to claim 41, wherein the bottle is a returnable bottle.
- 44. The bottle according to claim 41, whereinthe aroma component comprises d-limonene; and the diamond-like carbon film restrains adsorption of the d-limonene by the bottle to below a detectable limit.
- 45. The bottle according to claim 41, wherein the diamond-like carbon film is from 0.05 to 5 μm thick.
- 46. The bottle according to claim 41, wherein the diamond-like carbon film has a density greater than or equal to 1.54 g/cm3.
- 47. The bottle according to claim 41, wherein the plastic comprises at least one member selected from the group consisting of polyethylene resin, polypropylene resin, polystyrene resin, cycloolefin copolymer resin, polyethylene terephthalate resin, polyethylene naphthalate resin, ethylene-(vinyl alcohol) copolymer resin, poly-4-methylpentene-1 resin, poly(methylmethacrylate) resin, acrylonitrile resin, polyvinyl chloride resin, polyvinylidene chloride resin, styrene-acrylonitrile resin, acrylonitrile-butadien-styrene resin, polyamide resin, polyamideimide resin, polyacetal resin, polycarbonate resin, polybutylene terephthalate resin, ionomer resin, polysulfone resin and polytetrafluoroethylene resin.
- 48. The bottle according to claim 41, whereinone end of the chamber is formed by a cover; and the outer shell is placed into the chamber via an opening formed when the cover is removed from the end of the chamber.
