Weather protection systems that can provide protection for a building or object from inclement weather and other adverse environmental conditions are described.
More and more locations are becoming susceptible to flooding, severe weather, high wind, and fire because of climate change. For example, the Atlantic and Gulf coasts are subjected to hurricanes throughout the year. In the wake of these natural disasters, the damage can be extensive due to the high wind speeds and the rising water levels caused by the rain and the coastal storm surge. The damage can be especially prevalent in manufactured homes because the homes are often built with weaker construction materials and are located in rural areas in low lying land, which can be harder to access by first responders.
Consequently, there is a need for new weather protection systems that can provide buildings and objects with effective protection from adverse environmental conditions.
Provided herein are weather protection systems that can provide a building with protection from the elements. In one specific embodiment, a weather protection system includes: one or more long side wall tarps, where the one or more long side wall tarps are configured to cover a long side wall of a building, and where the one or more long side wall tarps are rectangular shaped tarps; one or more roof tarps, where one or more side tarps are configured to cover a top of a building, and where the one or more side tarps are rectangular shaped tarps; one or more short side wall tarps, where the one or more short side wall tarps are configured to cover a short side wall of a building; one or more extension tarps, where the one or more extension tarps are attached to at least one of the one or more short side wall tarps along a length of the short side wall tarps; one or more straps; one or more strap attachment members, where the one or more strap attachment members include one or more loops, and where the one or more loops are disposed upon the long side wall tarps, roof tarps, short side wall tarps, and extension tarps; and one or more straps, where the at least one strap is inserted into the at least one loop.
In another specific embodiment, a weather protection system further includes one or more bladders, where the bladders include one or more tubes and one or more cap members, and where the bladders are configured to be positioned around the perimeter of the building.
In yet another specific embodiment, a method of using a weather protection system includes: at least partially covering a building with a weather protection system.
