Claims
- 1. A compound of the formula ##STR17## namely, .+-.2-[(3,4-methylenedioxy)phenethyl]-5-[(3-carboxamido-4-hydroxy)-.alpha.-hydroxybenzyl]pyrrolidine and the pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof.
- 2. The compound of claim 1 wherein the compound is a cis isomer.
- 3. A compound of the formula ##STR18## and its enantiomer, namely, (.+-.), (+), and (-) cis erythro 2-[(3,4-methylenedioxy)phenethyl]-5-[(3-carboxamido-4-hydroxy)-.alpha.-hydroxybenzyl]pyrrolidine and the pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof.
- 4. A compound of the formula ##STR19## and its enantiomer, namely, (.+-.), (+), and (-) cis threo 2-[(3,4-methylenedioxy)phenethyl]-5-[(3-carboxamido-4-hydroxy)-.alpha.-hydroxybenzyl]pyrrolidine and the pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof.
- 5. The compound of claim 1 wherein the compound is a trans isomer.
- 6. A compound of the formula ##STR20## and its enantiomer, namely, (.+-.), (+), and (-) trans erythro 2-[(3,4-methylenedioxy)phenethyl]-5-[(3-carboxamido-4-hydroxy)-.alpha.-hydroxybenzyl]pyrrolidine and the pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof.
- 7. A compound of the formula ##STR21## and its enantiomer, namely, (.+-.), (+), and (-) trans threo 2-[(3,4-methylenedioxy)phenethyl]-5-[(3-carboxamido-4-hydroxy)-.alpha.-hydroxybenzyl]pyrrolidine and the pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof.
- 8. A pharmaceutical composition which comprises a therapeutically effective amount of a compound of formula ##STR22## or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof, in admixture with a pharmaceutically acceptable excipient.
- 9. A method for regulating hypertension in mammals which method comprises administering to a subject in need of such treatment a therapeutically effective amount of the compound of the formula ##STR23## or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof.
