- 9. A method for providing muscle relaxation in a living animal body with a minimum of undesirable side effects comprising internally administering to said living animal body an effective amount of a compound selected from the group having the formula: ##STR7## wherein; R is hydrogen or lower alkyl,
- R.sup.1 is fluoro, chloro, bromo, lower alkyl or amino,
- R.sup.2 is lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, fluoro, chloro, bromo, amino or trifluoromethyl,
- n is 0-3 and m is 0-2,
- and the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.
- 10. The method of claim 9 wherein R is hydrogen, lower alkyl, sodium or potassium.
- 11. The method of claim 9 wherein said effective amount ranges between about 1 and about 100 milligrams of said compound.
- 12. The method of claim 9 wherein the compound is 2-amino-6-biphenylacetic acid or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
