Claims
- 1. A method for inhibiting fungus diseases in plants consisting essentially of applying to the plants a compound of the formula ##EQU21## wherein R is hydrogen; alkyl of 1 to 13 carbon atoms; alkyl of 1 to 13 carbon atoms substituted with alkoxycarbonyl of 2 to 4 carbon atoms, acyl of 2 to 4 carbon atoms, cyano, hydroxyl, acyloxy of 2 to 4 carbon atoms, ##SPC6##
- or ##SPC7##
- alkenyl of 3 to 6 carbon atoms; cycloalkyl of 5 to 7 carbon atoms; acyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms; ##SPC8##
- or a cation selected from the group consisting of lithium sodium, potassium, calcium, and NR.sub.2 R.sub.3 R.sub.4 R.sub.5 ;
- y is hydrogen, chlorine, fluorine, bromine, methyl or cyano;
- R.sub.2 is hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, 2-hydroxyethyl or alkoxyethyl of 3 to 4 carbon atoms;
- R.sub.3 is hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, 2-hydroxyethyl or alkoxyethyl of 3 to 4 carbon atoms atoms
- R.sub.4 is hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, 2-hydroxyethyl, or alkoxyethyl of 3 to 4 carbon atoms;
- R.sub.5 is hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 12 carbon atoms, 2-hydroxyethyl, alkoxyethyl of 3 to 4 carbon atoms or benzyl;
- R.sub.1 is hydrogen, ##EQU22## R.sub.6 is hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or allyl; X is oxygen or sulfur with the proviso that
- 1. when R.sub.1 is ##EQU23## or when X is sulfur, R is methyl;
- 2. when R is a cation, R.sub.1 is hydrogen;
- 3. when R is substituted alkyl, the total number of carbon atoms is R is
- less than 14 in an amount sufficient to inhibit the fungus disease. 2. The method of claim 1 wherein
- R.sub.6 is hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms provided that when R is alkyl of 2 to 6 carbon atoms or cycloalkyl of 5 to 7 carbon atoms, R.sub.1 is ##EQU24##
- 3. The method of claim 1 wherein
- R.sub.1 is ##EQU25## R is alkyl of 1 to 13 carbon atoms; alkyl of 1 to 13 carbon atoms substituted with alkoxycarbonyl of 2 to 4 carbon atoms, acyl of 2 to 4 carbon atoms, hydroxyl, cyano, acyloxy of 2 to 4 carbon atoms, ##SPC9##
- alkenyl of 3 to 6 carbon atoms; cycloalkyl of 5 to 7 carbon atoms; O,O-dialkyl thiophosphoryl of 2 to 4 carbon atoms; acyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or ##SPC10##
- Y is hydrogen, chlorine, fluorine, bromine, methyl or cyano; and
- R.sub.6 is hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or allyl provided that the total number of carbon atoms in the substituent R is less than 14.
- 4. The method of claim 3 wherein R.sub.6 is hydrogen or alkyl or 1 to 4 carbon atoms.
- 5. The method of claim 2 wherein
- R.sub.1 is hydrogen
- X is oxygen; and
- R is hydrogen, methyl or a cation.
- 6. The method of claim 3 wherein
- X is oxyten;
- R is alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms; and
- R.sub.6 is hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or allyl.
- 7. The method of claim 5 wherein the compound is 2-cyano-2-hydroxyiminoacetamide.
- 8. The method of claim 5 wherein the compound is 2-cyano-2-hydroxyiminoacetamide, sodium salt.
- 9. The method of claim 5 wherein the compound is 2-cyano-2-hydroxyiminoacetamide, ammonium salt.
- 10. The method of claim 6 wherein the compound is N-carbamoyl-2-cyano-2-methoxyiminoacetamide.
- 11. The method of claim 6 wherein the compound is 2-cyano-2-methoxyimino-N-methylcarbamoylacetamide.
- 12. The method of claim 6 wherein the compound is 2-cyano-N-ethylcarbamoyl-2-methoxyiminoacetamide.
- 13. The method of claim 6 wherein the compound is 2-cyano-2-ethoxyimino-N-ethylcarbamoylacetamide.
- 14. The method of claim 6 wherein the compound is N-allylcarbamoyl-2-cyano-2-methoxyiminoacetamide.
- 15. The method of claim 6 wherein the compound is 2-cyano-2-methoxyimino-N-propylcarbamoylacetamide.
- 16. A composition useful for inhibiting fungus diseases in plants consisting of an inert diluent and an amount of a compound sufficient to inhibit the fungus disease, said compound having the formula: ##EQU26## wherein R is alkyl of 1 to 13 carbon atoms; alkyl of 1 to 13 carbon atoms substituted with alkoxycarbonyl of 2 to 4 carbon atoms, acyl of 2 to 4 carbon atoms, hydroxyl, cyano, acyloxy of 2 to 4 carbon atoms, ##SPC11##alkenyl, of 3 to 6 carbon atoms; cycloalkyl of 5 to 7 carbon atoms; acyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or ##SPC12##
- Y is hydrogen, chlorine, fluorine, bromine, methyl or cyano; and
- R.sub.6 is hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or allyl provided that the total number of carbon atoms in the substituent R is less than 14.
- 17. A composition of claim 16 wherein R.sub.6 is hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms.
- 18. A composition of claim 16 wherein R is alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms and R.sub.6 is alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or allyl.
- 19. A composition of claim 18 wherein the compound is 2-cyano-2-methoxyimino-N-methylcarbamoylacetamide.
- 20. A composition of claim 18 wherein the compound is 2-cyano-N-ethylcarbamoyl-2-methoxyiminoacetamide.
- 21. A composition of claim 18 wherein the compound is 2-cyano-2-ethoxyimino-N-ethylcarbamoylacetamide.
- 22. A composition of claim 18 wherein the compound is N-allylcarbamoyl-2-cyano-2-methoxyiminoacetamide.
- 23. A composition of claim 18 wherein the compound is 2-cyano-2-methoxyimino-N-propylcarbamoylacetamide.
- 24. A composition of claim 18 wherein the compound is N-carbamoyl-2-cyano-2-methoxyiminoacetamide.
- 25. A fungicidal composition consisting essentially of an amount of 2-cyano-N-ethylcarbamoyl-2-methoxyiminoacetamide sufficient to inhibit fungus diseases in plants and a fungicidally
- effective amount of a fungicide selected from the group consistion of
- bis(dimethylthiocarbamoyl)disulfide
- tetramethylthiuran disulfide
- manganese ethylenebisdithiocarbamate
- zinc ethylenebisdithiocarbamate
- iron ethylenebisdithiocarbamate
- sodium ethylenebisdithiocarbamate
- manganese propylenebisdithiocarbamate
- zinc propylenebisdithiocarbamate
- iron propylenebisdithiocarbamate
- sodium propylenebisdithiocarbamate
- n-dodecylguanidine acetate
- N-(trichloromethylthio)phthalimide
- N-[(trichloromethyl)thio]-3-cyclohexene-1,2-dicarboximide
- cis-N-[(1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethyl)thio]-4-cyclohexene-1,2-dicarboximide
- 2. 4-dichloro-6-(o-chloroanilino)-.alpha.-triazine

- 26. A fungicidal composition of claim 25 consisting essentially of a fungicidally effective amount of manganese ethylenebisdithiocarbamate and 2-cyano-N-ethylcarbamoyl-2-methoxyiminoacetamide.
- 27. A fungicidal composition of claim 25 consisting essentially of a fungicidally effective amount of chloroisophthalonitrile and 2-cyano-N-ethylcarbamoyl-2-methoxyiminoacetamide.
