Claims
- 1. A method of treating ulcers in a human in need of such treatment which comprises administration to said human an antiallergy effective amount of a compound of the formula ##STR15## or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or hydrate thereof, wherein X is NH; R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each independently hydrogen or lower alkyl; R.sub.3 is hydrogen, lower alkyl, phenyl, phenyl substituted by one, two, or three substituents of one or more of each of alkyl of one to four carbons, alkoxy, thioalkoxy, alkanoyloxy, carboalkoxy, in which "alk" is one to four carbons, hydroxymethyl, NR.sub.5 R.sub.6 wherein R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 are each independently hydrogen or lower alkyl, nitro, CF.sub.3, or halogen, NR.sub.5 R.sub.6 in which R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 are as defined above, OR.sub.7 or S(O).sub.n R.sub.R in which R.sub.7 is hydrogen, lower alkyl, or phenyl and n is 0, 1, or 2; and R.sub.4 is phenyl, substituted phenyl as defined above, NR.sub.5 R.sub.6, OR.sub.7, or S(O).sub.n R.sub.7 in which R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 are as defined above in unit dosage form.
- 2. A method according to claim 1 wherein the active ingredient is 4,6-bis-(1,1-dimethylethyl)-2-(2-hydroxy-5-methyl-1H-imidazole-4-yl)-5-pyrimidinol.
