Claims
- 1. A 3(2H)-pyridazinone of the formula: ##STR50## wherein R.sup.1 is a hydrogen atom, a straight chain or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl group, a C.sub.3 -C.sub.4 alkenyl group or (CH.sub.2).sub.n CO.sub.2 R.sup.5, where n is an integer from 1 to 4, R.sup.5 is a hydrogen atom or a straight chain or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl group;
- R.sup.2 is A.sup.1 -Y.sup.1, where A.sup.1 is a straight chain or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 alkylene group, Y.sup.1 is an unsubstituted thienyl or pyridyl group which is unsubstituted or substituted on nitrogen by oxygen or on carbon by a halogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkoxy group;
- R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are independently a hydrogen atom or a straight chain or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl group;
- X is a chlorine atom, a bromine atom, a hydrogen atom or a cyano group; and
- Ar is ##STR51## where R.sup.21 is a hydrogen atom or OR.sup.5, where R.sup.5 is as defined above, or ##STR52## where Z.sup.2 and Z.sup.3 are independently a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a straight chain or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl group, OR.sup.22, where R.sup.22 is a hydrogen atom or a straight chain or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl group, or O--A.sup.1 --Y.sup.3, where A.sup.1 is as defined above and Y.sup.3 is a phenyl group which is unsubstituted or substituted with a straight chain or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl group or a halogen atom, CO.sub.3 R.sup.5, where R.sup.5 is as defined above, or ##STR53## where R.sup.7 and R.sup.8 are independently a hydrogen atom, a straight chain or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl group, a C.sub.3 -C.sub.8 cycloalkyl group, a phenyl group or an unsubstituted thiazolyl or thiadiazolyl group, or R.sup.7 and R.sup.8 together form a C.sub.2 -C.sub.8 alkylene group which is unsubstituted or substituted with a straight chain or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl group or a phenyl group, or form a morpholine ring with a nitrogen atom, or Z.sup.2 and Z.sup.3 together with a benzene ring, form ##STR54## where W is C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkylene group which is unsubstituted or substituted with a straight chain C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl group; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
- 2. A 3(2H)-pyridazinone compound according to claim 1, wherein R.sup.4 is a hydrogen atom and X is a chlorine atom, a bromine atom or a cyano group; and a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
- 3. A 3(2H)-pyridazinone compound according to claim 2 of the formula: ##STR55## wherein R.sup.1 is a hydrogen atom, a straight chain or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl group, or (CH.sub.2).sub.n CO.sub.2 R.sup.4, where n is an integer from 1 to 4, R.sup.4 is a hydrogen atom or a straight chain or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl group;
- R.sup.2 is A.sup.1 --Y.sup.1, where A.sup.1 is a straight chain or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 alkylene group, Y.sup.1 is an unsubstituted thienyl or pyridyl group which is unsubstituted or substituted on nitrogen by oxygen or on carbon by a halogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkoxy group;
- R.sup.3 is a hydrogen atom or a straight chain or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl group;
- X is a chlorine atom, a bromine atom, or a cyano group; and
- Ar is ##STR56## where R.sup.19 is a hydrogen atom or OR.sup.4, where R.sup.4 is as defined above, or ##STR57## where Z.sup.2 and Z.sup.3 are independently a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a straight chain or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl group, OR.sup.20, where R.sup.20 is a hydrogen atom or a straight chain or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl group, or O--A.sup.3 --Y.sup.3, where A.sup.3 is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkylene group, and Y.sup.3 is a phenyl group, CO.sub.2 R.sup.4, where R.sup.4 is as defined above, or ##STR58## where R.sup.21 and R.sup.22 are independently a straight chain or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl group, a C.sub.3 -C.sub.7 cycloalkyl group, or R.sup.21 and R.sup.22 together form a C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 alkylene group, or Z.sup.2 and Z.sup.3 together with a benzene ring, form ##STR59## where W is C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 alkylene group; and a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
- 4. A 3(2H)-pyridazinone compound and the pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof according to claim 3, wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.3 are hydrogen atoms.
- 5. An anti-thrombotic, inotropic, vasodilatory, or anti-SRS-A agent comprising an effective amount of the 3(2H)-pyridazinone compound or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt as defined in claim 1 in combination with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier therefor.
