Claims
- 1. A defect detecting apparatus that monitors electrical equipment to detect a defect in the electrical equipment, the defect detecting apparatus comprising:
- a plurality of sensors, each sensor of the plurality of sensors being operatively connected to a respective location on the electrical equipment, each respective location having a respective resonance frequency; and
- a plurality of bandpass filters, each bandpass filter of the plurality of bandpass filters having a respective output, each said bandpass filter being operatively connected to a respective sensor of the plurality of sensors, and having a respective bandwidth and a respective center frequency at substantially the respective resonance frequency;
- wherein the defect is determined based upon an analysis of a relation between the respective outputs of each of the plurality of bandpass filters.
- 2. The defect detecting apparatus according to claim 1, wherein:
- the electrical equipment is a rotating electric machine having windings, and a stator core having a length; and
- each resonance frequency is dependent upon the length of the stator core.
- 3. A defect detecting apparatus that monitors electrical equipment, the defect detecting apparatus comprising:
- a plurality of sensors, each sensor of the plurality of sensors being operatively connected to a respective location on the electrical equipment, each respective location having a respective resonance frequency;
- a plurality of band pass filters, each bandpass filter of the plurality of bandpass filters being operatively connected to a respective sensor of the plurality of sensors, and having a respective bandwidth and a respective center frequency at substantially the respective resonance frequency;
- a respective signal strength comparing circuit operatively connected to each respective bandpass filter;
- a respective noise elimination circuit operatively connected to each respective signal strength comparing circuit; and
- a partial discharge generation processing circuit operatively connected to each respective noise elimination circuit.
- 4. A defect detecting apparatus that monitors electrical equipment, the defect detecting apparatus comprising:
- a plurality of sensors, each sensor of the plurality of sensors being operatively connected to a respective location on the electrical equipment, each respective location having a respective resonance frequency;
- a plurality of bandpass filters, each bandpass filter of the plurality of bandpass filters being operatively connected to a respective sensor of the plurality of sensors, and having a respective bandwidth and a respective center frequency at substantially the respective resonance frequency;
- a peak hold circuit operatively connected to each respective bandpass filter;
- an analog-digital converter operatively connected to the peak hold circuit; and
- a noise elimination circuit operatively connected to the analog-digital converter.
