Claims
- 1. A pet toilet comprising a tray, and an absorbent mat for excreta treatment said absorbent mat having a flat shape said absorbent mat having an upper surface and a lower surface, and said absorbent mat comprisingan absorbing base material comprising at least one of plant fiber and pulp, an antimicrobial surface active agent or a combination of a surface active agent and an antimicrobial agent, and at least one of a binder, a crosslinking agent and water, said absorbent mat having a thickness of 3 mm or greater, a bulk density of 0.05 to 0.3 g/cm3, a saturated water absorption of 2 g/1 g or more, and a rate of water absorption of 30 sec or shorter in said tray; and liquid permeable nonwoven material covering the upper surface of said absorbent mat, said nonwoven material being fastened at prescribed positions so as to come into close contact with the upper surface of said absorbent mat wherein the tray is provided with raised edges carrying fastening means for fixing said nonwoven material to the tray.
- 2. The pet toilet according to claim 1, wherein a fastening means for fixing said nonwoven material is provided on the upper side of said absorbent mat.
- 3. The pet toilet according to claim 1, wherein said tray has a straight bend across a prescribed position thereof to divide said tray into two parts in each of which said absorbent mat and said nonwoven material are put, and said tray is bent at said bend to make a horizontal portion and a vertical portion forming a prescribed angle therebetween.
- 4. The pet toilet according to claim 1, wherein said nonwoven material is heat-rolled nonwoven material, spunbonded nonwoven material or air-through nonwoven material and has a basis weight of 10 to 100 g/m2.
- 5. A method of treating pet excrement which uses the pet toilet as set forth in claim 4, in which said nonwoven material is unfastened after a pet gets rid of its solid waste, rolling up said nonwoven material with the waste inside, and disposing of said nonwoven material together with the waste.
