- 2. The method of claim 1 wherein the step of initiating a new call comprises:
setting a calling party identifier parameter equal to the received access code; setting a called party identifier parameter equal to a directory number of the called communication station; and setting another call parameter equal to the directory number of the called communication station.
- 3. The method of claim 2 wherein the other call parameter is a RedirectingElement1 call parameter of the new call.
- 4. The method of claim 2 wherein the other call parameter is an OriginalCalledID call parameter of the new call.
- 5. The method of claim 2 further comprising:
comparing the called party identifier parameter and the other call parameter; and completing the new call when the called party identifier parameter and the other call parameter match.
- 6. The method of claim 1 further comprising:
prompting the calling party to enter the access code; detecting the access code entered by the calling party; and validating the access code.
- 7. The method of claim 1 wherein the calling party information is configured to produce a calling party indication at Customer Premise Equipment associated with the called communication station.
- 8. A call processing method in a telecommunication system, the call processing method comprising:
receiving a call from a calling party at a calling communication station for a called party at a called communication station; if calling line information cannot be provided for the call, interrupting the call; providing call disposition options to the calling party; if the calling party selects a bypass option, receiving an access code from the calling party; and initiating a new call to the called communication station with call parameters indicating the access code for presentation at Customer Premise Equipment of the called communication station, including establishing two or more call parameters having a predetermined relationship recognizable by network equipment to indicate the new call as an access code call.
- 9. The call processing method of claim 8 wherein initiating a new call comprises:
generating a primary rate interface (PRI) setup message including
setting a calling party identifier of the PRI message to the access code, setting a called party identifier of the PRI message to a directory number of the called communication station; and setting another call parameter of the PRI message to the directory number of the called communication station.
- 10. The call processing method of claim 9 wherein the other call parameter comprises a RedirectingElement1 parameter of the PRI message.
- 11. A method for processing a call for which caller identification information cannot be provided, the method comprising:
validating an access code to bypass a privacy management service; establishing call parameters to indicate the call as an access code and to cause display of complete caller identity information for the access code call at a called communication station intended for the call; and initiating a call with the established call parameters to the called communication station.
- 12. The method of claim 11 wherein establishing call parameters comprises:
setting a called party identifier to the directory number of the called communication station; and setting another call parameter to the directory number of the called communication station.
- 13. The method of claim 12 wherein the other call parameter is a RedirectingElement1 parameter.
- 14. The method of claim 12 wherein establishing call parameters further comprises:
setting a calling party identifier to a value related to the access code.
- 15. The method of claim 12 wherein establishing call parameters further comprises:
setting a calling party identifier to the access code.
- 16. The method of claim 15 further comprising:
marking the calling party identifier private.
- 17. A method for processing calls in a telecommunication system, the method comprising:
receiving a call from a calling party to a called party, the called party having an assigned directory number; receiving an access code from the calling party; in response to the access code, configuring a call setup message including the following parameters:
CallingPartyID=the received access code, CalledPartyID=the directory number of the called party, and RedirectingElement1=the directory number of the called party; and transmitting the call setup message to network equipment for further processing.
- 18. The method of claim 17 further comprising:
at the network equipment, receiving the call setup message; and in response to the call setup message, configuring an initial address message including the following parameters:
CallingPartyID=a directory number reserved for access code calls, CalledPartyID=the directory number of the called party, and OriginalCalledID=the directory number of the called party; and transmitting the initial address message.
- 19. A method for processing calls in a telecommunication system, the method comprising:
receiving a call from a calling party to a called party, the called party having an assigned directory number; receiving an access code from the calling party to identify the call as an access code call; forwarding the access code call, including configuring an initial address message which includes the following parameters:
CallingPartyID=a directory number reserved for access code calls, CalledPartyID=the directory number of the called party, and OriginalCalledID=the directory number of the called party; and transmitting the initial address message; in response to the OriginalCalledID parameter of the initial address message and call forwarding designation for the called party, routing the call to a voice mail box for the called party.
- 20. A method for processing calls in a telecommunication system, the method comprising:
storing in a line information database an access code name identifier in association with an access code directory number; receiving a call from a calling party to a called party, the called party having an assigned directory number; receiving an access code from the calling party identifying the call is an access code call; and for the access code call, configuring an Authorize_Termination message including the following display text parameters:
CallingPartyName=the access code name identifier, CallingAddress=the access code, CallingPartyID=the access code directory number.
- 21. The method of claim 20 further comprising:
interrupting the call before completing the call to the called party; prompting the calling party to enter an access code; in response to receiving the access code, configuring a call setup message including the following parameters:
CallingPartyID=the received access code, CalledPartyID=the directory number of the called party, and RedirectingElement1=the directory number of the called party; transmitting the call setup message to first network equipment for further processing; at the network equipment, in response to the call setup message,
configuring an initial address message which includes the following parameters: +P2 CallingPartyID=the access code directory number,
