Claims
- 1. An access opening closure device comprising:a housing defining a receptacle; a top cover movably supported on the housing, the top cover being movable from a first position covering a top opening of the housing to a second position uncovering the top opening of the housing; an access door movably supported on the housing, the access door being movable from a first position covering a rear opening of the housing to a second position uncovering the rear opening of the housing; and a bracket assembly secured to the housing, the bracket assembly being configured to mount the rear opening of the housing about an access opening in a door, the bracket assembly including a top, a bottom and a side bracket, each of the brackets being positioned about the rear opening of the housing, wherein the top and bottom brackets each include a concavity formed therein, the concavities together defining a guide track, the access door being slidably supported for movement between its first and second positions on the guide track.
- 2. An access opening closure device according to claim 1, wherein the side bracket has a slot formed therein adjacent one end of the guide track, the slot being positioned to permit removal debris positioned on the guide track when the access door is moved from the open position to the closed position.
- 3. An access opening closure device according to claim 1, wherein the top cover is pivotably secured to the housing.
- 4. An access opening closure device according to claim 1, wherein the top cover is slidably supported on the housing.
- 5. An access opening closure device comprising:a housing defining a receptacle; a top cover movably supported on the housing, the top cover being movable from a first position covering a top opening of the housing to a second position uncovering the top opening of the housing; an access door movably supported on the housing, the access door being movable from a first position covering a rear opening of the housing to a second position uncovering the rear opening of the housing; and first and second and third locks, the first lock being positioned to retain the top cover in its first position, the second lock being positioned to retain the access door in its first position, and the third lock being positioned to retain the access door in its second position.
- 6. An access opening closure device according to claim 5, wherein the first and second locks are spring-loaded such that they retain the top cover and the access door in their first position until the first and second locks are manually released.
- 7. An access opening closure device according to claim 5, wherein the housing is constructed from stainless steel.
- 8. An access opening closure device according to claim 7, wherein the top cover is constructed from a transparent material.
- 9. An access opening closure device configured to be positioned about an opening on a secure side of a support structure, the access opening closure device comprising:a housing having an outer portion and an inner portion, said inner portion defining a fixed receptacle; a top cover movably supported on the housing, the top cover being movable from a first position at least partially covering a top opening of the receptacle to a second position at least partially uncovering the top opening of the receptacle; an access door movably supported on the housing, the access door being movable from a first position at least partially covering a rear opening of the receptacle to a second position at least partially uncovering the rear opening of the receptacle; a first lock operable to retain the access door in its first position; a second lock operable to retain the top cover in its first position; a third lock, the third lock being operable to retain the access door in its second position; wherein the top cover and the access door are positioned to be primarily operable only from a secure side of a support structure on which the access opening closure device is positioned.
- 10. An access opening closure device configured to be positioned about an open on a secure side of a support structure, the access opening closure device comprising:a housing having an outer portion and an inner portion, said inner portion defining a fixed receptacle having a rear opening; a top cover movably supported on the housing, the top cover being movable from a first position at least partially covering a top opening of the receptacle to a second position at least partially uncovering the top opening of the receptacle; an access door movably supported on the housing, the access door being movable from a first position at least partially covering the rear opening of the receptacle to a second position at least partial uncovering the rear opening of the receptacle; and a bracket assembly secured to the housing, the bracket assembly being mounted about the rear opening of the housing; wherein the top cover and the access door are positioned to be primarily operable only from the secure side of a support structure on which the access opening closure device is positioned.
- 11. An access opening closure device according to claim 10, wherein the bracket assembly includes a top, a bottom and a side bracket, each of the brackets being positioned about the rear opening of the housing.
- 12. An access opening closure device according to claim 10, further including a first lock the first lock being operable to retain the access door in its first position.
- 13. An access opening closure device according to claim 12, further including a second lock the second lock being operable to retain the top cover in its first position.
- 14. An access opening closure device according to claim 10, wherein the housing is constructed from stainless steel.
- 15. An access opening closure device according to claim 10, wherein the top cover is constructed from a transparent material.
