Claims
- 1. An acoustically reflective oligolamellar liposome for use in ultrasonic imaging consisting essentially of phosphatidylethanolamine and an additional lipid selected from the group consisting of phosphatidylserine, cholesterol, phosphatidylglycerol and phosphatidylcholine, wherein said liposome has a particle size of 0.8 to 10 microns and has internally separated bilayers and a ligand selected from the group consisting of an antibody, a peptide, a lectin and a nucleic acid is conjugated to said bilayers to increase the separation of the bilayers and the echogenicity of said liposome.
