Claims
- 1. A method for activating a magnetic disk apparatus having a plurality of magnetic disk modules, said method comprising the steps of:
- dividing the plurality of magnetic disk modules into at least three groups;
- activating a first set of at least two groups of said at least three groups by inputting corresponding rush currents to said first set of at least two groups so that activation times of said at least two groups of said first set are shifted by a first predetermined time and are overlapped; and
- activating a remainder of said at least three groups by inputting corresponding rush currents to said remainder upon completion of activation of said first set of at least two groups.
- 2. The method as in claim 1 wherein each of said at least three groups has the same number of the magnetic disk modules.
- 3. The method as in claim 1 wherein each of said at least three groups includes a mutually different number of the magnetic disk modules.
- 4. The method as in claim 1 wherein the magnetic disk apparatus includes at least four groups, further including the steps of:
- dividing said remainder into a second set of at least two groups; and
- activating said second set of at least two groups of said at least four groups upon completion of said activation of said first set of at least two groups by inputting corresponding rush currents to said second set of at least two groups so that activation times of said at least two groups in said second set are shifted by a second predetermined time and are overlapped.
- 5. The method as in claim 4 wherein each of said at least four groups has the same number of the magnetic disk modules.
- 6. The method as in claim 4 wherein each of said at least four groups includes a mutually different number of the magnetic disk modules.
- 7. The method as in claim 6 wherein within said first and second sets of at least two groups, said groups are activated successively starting from a group having the greatest number of the magnetic disk modules to a group having the least number of the magnetic disk modules.
- 8. A method for activating a magnetic disk apparatus having a plurality of magnetic disk modules, said method comprising the steps of:
- dividing the plurality of magnetic disk modules into at least two groups;
- activating a first group of said at least two groups by inputting a rush current for a predetermined activation period; and
- successively activating a remainder of said at least two groups by inputting corresponding rush currents to said remainder so that an activation of a succeeding group is shifted approximately by half an activation period of a preceding group.
- 9. The method as in claim 8 wherein each of said groups has the same number of the magnetic disk modules.
- 10. The method as in claim 8 wherein each of said groups includes a mutually different number of the magnetic disk modules.
