Claims
- 1. A patch for applying medication to an acupoint of a patient's body, comprising:
a lining layer, to impermeably prevent said medication from being exposed through said lining layer; a storage layer, disposed below said lining layer, for carrying a predetermined medication; a controlled release layer, disposed below said storage layer, for controllably releasing said medication at a predetermined pace into the patient's body through said acupoint; a pressure sensitive layer, disposed below said controlled release layer, for causing said medication to saturate the cuticle quickly and enter into the patient's body's blood stream.
- 2. The patch of claim 1, further comprising a non-sticking protection layer, being releasabley affixed to said pressure sensitive layer to preserve said medication before usage.
- 3. The patch of claim 1, wherein said medication comprises a mixture of herbal extracts of Ligusticum, Salvia Root, Tangkuei, and Chrysanthemum.
- 4. The patch of claim 3, wherein said mixture comprises:
19 mg of Ligusticum; 17 mg of Salvia Root; 11 mg of Tangkuei, and 33 mg of Chrysanthemum.
- 5. The patch of claim 4, wherein said mixture further comprises Polyacrylic adhesive and Azoo.
- 6. The patch of claim 4, wherein said controlled release layer comprises one of:
a mixture of nitrogen ketone with herbal extracts and pressure-sensitive latex; PVC material coated with herbal extracts and placed in a controlled release film.
- 7. A method of making a transdermal patch for applying medication to an acupoint of a patient's body, comprising:
Extracting a predetermined amount of extracts from each of Ligusticum, Salvia Root, Tangkuei and Chrysanthemum; Concentrating and drying said extracts, and making them into small powders; Preparing polyester thin plastics by electrically ironing said thin plastics, evenly applying organic silicon paste proofing agent and drying; Preparing silk by processing waterproofing on weaved silk and electric plating aluminum on said silk; Preparing herbal mixture, comprising:
Weighing a predetermined amount of polyacrylate emulsion; While agitating the polyacrylate, adding predetermined quantities of extracts of Ligusticum, Salvia Root, Tangkuei and Chrysanthemum, one by one; Adding transderma promoter, moister retainer and fragrance, after a predetermined wait time; Agitating the solution again; Filtering the solution after agitation.
- 8. The method of claim 7, further comprising:
evenly applying the filtered solution onto the processed silk by one of scraping and transferring paste, controlling quantity of the colloidal substance on the processed silk to be no lower than 120 g/sq meter; covering the processed polyester think plastic and cutting it into round standard pieces of 17 mm in diameter.
- 9. The method of claim 8, wherein releasing of herbal extracts is controlled by the transdermal promoter and measurements of processed particles.
- 10. The method of claim 8, wherein releasing of herbal extracts is achieved by:
Dissolving the herbal extracts; Adding by evenly applying the processed solution onto the processed silk by one of scraping and transferring paste; Pasting a releasing control film on a herb storage layer and evenly applying a sensitivity reduced layer onto the release control layer; Cutting into pieces of predetermined dimensions and covering a processed protection layer.
- 11. The method of claim 7, wherein said steps of extracting herbal extracts and concentrating comprise:
providing an herbal raw material; adding pure water to the herbal raw material; cycling the herbal material and water three times, with multiples of the menstruum respective being 10 times, 8 times and 8 times; filtering after cycling three times; concentrating into 1.12 g/ml of the density; cooling to about 30 degree Celsius; atomizing and drying; mixing.
- 12. A transdermal patch for applying herbal medication to an acupoint on a patient's body, comprising:
a silk lining, disposed to receive herbal medication, said silk lining having been plated with aluminum on its surface; an herb storage layer, below said silk lining, being disposed to store said herbal medication; a protection layer, releasably applied to said herb storage layer, being disposed to contain said herbal medication, until usage.
- 13. The transdermal patch of claim 12, wherein said herbal medication is evenly applied to said silk lining by scraping or transfer paste.
- 14. A transdermal patch for applying herbal medication to an acupoint on a patent's body, comprising:
a silk lining, disposed to receive herbal medication, said silk lining having been plated with aluminum on its surface; an herb storage layer, below said silk lining, being disposed to store said herbal medication; release control film, below said herb storage layer, being pasted onto said herb storage layer, said release control film being adapted to controllably release said herbal medication over a period of time; a sensitivity reduction layer, below said release control film, being evenly pasted onto said release control film; a protection layer, being disposed to cover said sensitivity reduction layer until usage of said transdermal patch.
- 15. A method of using herbal medication for treatment of a patient's ailment, comprising:
providing an herbal raw material; extracting a predetermined amount from the herbal raw material to form an herbal extract; applying the predetermined amount of herbal extract onto a transdermal patch, said transdermal patch being adapted to controllably release said herbal extract into said patient's blood stream; applying said transdermal patch to a predetermined acupoint on a patient.
- 16. The method of claim 15, wherein said herbal raw material comprises an herbal material known to have a healing effect upon said ailment.
- 17. The patch of claim 3, wherein said mixture comprises:
between 5 mg and 50 mg of Ligusticum; between 5 mg and 50 mg of Salvia Root; between 5 mg and 50 mg of Tangkuei, and between 5 mg and 50 mg of Chrysanthemum.
- 18. The method of claim 15, further comprising the step of leaving the patch on for the patient for an extended period.
