- 18. A gas fireplace as claimed in claim 14 wherein the means for moving the door between its open and closed positions comprisesa movable handle; a linkage connecting the handle to the door whereby movement of the handle in one direction results in movement of the door toward its open position; and and movement of the handle in the opposite direction results in movement of the door towards its closed position.
- 19. A gas fireplace as claimed in claim 14 wherein the means for controllably activating the electric motor comprises a thermostat.
- 20. A gas fireplace as claimed in claim 12 wherein the means for moving the door between its open and closed positions comprises an electric motor and means for controllably activating the electric motor.
- 21. A gas fireplace as claimed in claim 12 further comprising means for preventing cool air entering the plenum from the second vent pipe from passing into the firebox.
- 22. A gas fireplace as claimed in claim 21 wherein the means for preventing cool air entering the plenum from the second vent pipe from passing into the firebox comprises a baffle extending across at least a portion of the plenum between the first vent pipe and the second vent pipe.
- 23. A gas fireplace as claimed in claim 21 wherein the means for preventing cool air entering the plenum from the second vent pipe from passing into the firebox comprises a fan located in the plenum for directing gas within the plenum in a direction which prevents cool air entering the plenum from the second vent pipe from passing into the firebox.
