Adaptive Medical Snap Wear

Abstract

The present invention is clothing that is easily placed on or removed from a person's easing the maneuvering around medical devices or wounds. The apparel looks like traditional clothing but it is functional clothing adaptable to medical treatment and medical apparatuses and is intended to be an alternative to traditional clothing for those who are immobile or disabled. The clothing contains one or more functional seams that extend along select regions on the garments to allow the garments to be removed with greater convenience.

Description

FIELD OF INVENTION

The present invention is a series of medical garments that have conventional seams replaced with fasteners. The fasteners will provide easy access for patients and medical professionals applying the garments or for the removal of the garments.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The present invention is a complete concept of medical apparel that is uniquely configured with fasteners on its selected seams. Within each configuration of each garment, there is the possibility of accessing a multitude of body regions that are difficult to access while wearing traditional clothes. The configuration also facilitates dressing and undressing for those suffering with limited mobility. This concept and the clothing are invaluable for the encumbered, disabled and post surgery patient.

Accordingly, it is an object of the present invention to provide clothing that allows easy access to the patient's body regions for treatment and monitoring medical needs while providing privacy and comfort to the patient.

Traditional article of clothing permit a limited range of access to the body that do not address a resolution to access select body regions covered by conventional clothing if the user needed to do so.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention is constructed to facilitate dressing and undressing for the encumbered and those suffering from immobilization, and to permit access to specific body regions via the fasteners on the seams of the clothing. Thus, the present garments are essential for those required to wear medical devices such as casts, splints, slings, body braces as well for those that need easy access to wounds, surgical sites, port sites and drains without having to completely remove one's clothing in order to maintain their privacy.

The present invention is configured to look like conventional classic style clothing that is functional for those in need of clothing that is adaptive as opposed to the traditional clothing.

Research has shown a direct correlation between one's psychological state of mind and the rapidity and success in healing. A positive self-image can lead to faster recovery from surgery which expedites the healing process. Given the correlation between one's state of mind and the rapidity of recovery, the inventions construction of clothing enhances a sense of wellness in the wearer. The invention is a construction of highly functional and stylish clothing which look good and feel good, thus helping patients recover quickly.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION AND PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

The present invention relates to articles of clothing that provide multiple adjustable and reclosable accesses to access beneath the article of clothing. Unlike conventional hospital gowns, medical clothing and streetwear, the articles configured according to the present invention allow for a user to remain substantially clothed while providing selective access to desired regions. The article of clothing can be constructed as upper-body or lower-body garments.

In one embodiment, A sleeve of the upper-body garment FIG. 1 can be short sleeve, a long sleeve or a sleeve of some greater than the length of a short sleeve but shorter than the length of a long sleeve.

In one embodiment, FIG. 1 the upper-body garment comprises at least one arm access. An arm access 51 and 54 is configured with snaps along the length of the sleeve and is constructed and arranged such that the sleeve construction provides access to a wearer's shoulder, upper arm, elbow, forearm and wrist without requiring the wearer to completely remove the upper-body garment.

In one embodiment, FIG. 1 the upper-body garment comprises of two 52 and 53 anterior torso access. FIG. 1 upper-body garment and is constructed and arranged such that the anterior torso access 52 and 53 provides access to a wearer's thorax, abdomen and chest without requiring the wearer to completely remove the upper-body garment.

In one embodiment, FIG. 1 the upper body garment comprises of at least one 50 neck width adjustment seam which is constructed on the collar 70 down to the shoulder region 50. The neck adjustment 50 is lined with snaps replacing the seam down to the upper shoulder region 50. This is constructed in order to widen the collar of the garment if needed.

In one embodiment, FIG. 2 the snaps 56 and neck adjustment seam 55 can be viewed from an up close side angle.

In one embodiment, FIG. 3 the opening arm sleeve 57 can be viewed from one of the two side angle.

In one embodiment, FIG. 4 the lower-body garment comprises two leg access 58 & 59 using snaps. A leg access is configured along the leg length from waist 65 of the lower-body garment to the bottom near ankle 86 and is constructed and arranged such that the leg access provides access to a wearer's ankle 68 region to their hip region 65 without requiring the wearer to completely remove the lower-body garment.

in one embodiment, FIG. 5 shows one of two identical side angles of the lower-body garment and the functionality 60.

in one embodiment, FIG. 6 the lower-body garment show underwear that is worn underneath of one's clothing. It is constructed with snaps on both sides of the garment 61 & 62 from the hip 67 to the bottom of the underwear 68 that are functional for providing ease of applying or removing the garment.

In one embodiment, FIG. 7 shows one of the two identical side angles of the underwear and its functional 63 location.

In one embodiment, FIG. 8 show the fastener 69 which is used on each garment in order to provide the functionality.

Claims

1. An upper-body article of clothing comprising: a collar;at least one sleeve;at least one seam that is replaced by fasteners in order to provide easier access for the wearer;Accesses that provide access to the body of the user wearing the article of clothing without complete removal of the article of clothing from the body of the user.

2. The article as defined in claim 1, wherein each selected access is opened or closed by an incremental fasteners.

3. The article as defined in claim 1, wherein the arm access composes of snaps.

4. The article as defined in claim 1, wherein the anterior torso accesses comprise of snaps.

5. The article as defined in claim 1, wherein the upper-body article of clothing comprises arm access, due to the fasteners, that extends along the entirety of the first sleeve and a second arm access that extends along the entirety of the second sleeve.

8. The article as defined in claim 1, wherein the upper-body article of clothing comprises of torso access that extends along the entirety of the left side of the terse region and a second side torso access that extends along the entirety of the right side of the torso region.

7. A lower-body article of clothing comprising: a waistline;at least one leg access, due to the fasteners, extending along the outer leg from the waist region down to the ankle region;

8. The article as defined in claim 7, wherein each leg access is opened or closed by an incremental fastening device.

9. The article as defined in claim 7, wherein the leg accesses comprises of snaps.

10. The article as defined in claim 7, wherein the knee accesses comprises of snaps.

11. The article as defined in claim 7, wherein the hip accesses comprises of snaps.
