Abstract
An adaptive shirt that includes: a front half; a back half; a first connective seam where the first connective seam includes a resealable sealing mechanism; a second connective seam, where the second connective seam includes a resealable sealing mechanism and where the first connective seam and second connective seam secure and seal together the front half and back half of the adaptive shirt. In any particular embodiment, the sealing mechanism may be selected from the following group: a hook and loop strip, a zipper, a set of buttons, snaps and magnets.
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of Invention

The present invention relates to a shirt design that includes connective seams along the vertical length of the shirt that create functional seams associated with each side of the shirt.

2. Description of Related Art

Many individuals wear shirts as part of their attire. Shirts normally includes openings for sleeves that enable the insertion of an individual's arms and a neck opening for the insertion of an individual's head. Shirts are normally either buttoned, zippered or slipped over a user's head for clothing the upper body of the individual. Shirts come in various sizes and styles and further the sleeves of the shirt may either be short, long or sleeveless. When individuals are injured such as having shoulder, elbow or arm injuries it can be difficult to robe and disrobe a conventional shirt. The conventional shirt normally does not have a means to adjust the seams along the shirt for the user to adjust as necessary. Consequently, it would be advantageous to have a shirt that includes adjustable seams for the user to adapt to when the individual's arm or shoulder may be injured.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to an adaptive shirt comprising: a front half; a back half; a first connective seam where the first connective seam includes a resealable sealing mechanism; a second connective seam, where the second connective seam includes a resealable sealing mechanism and where the first connective seam and second connective seam secure and seal together the front half and back half of the adaptive shirt. In any particular embodiment, the sealing mechanism may be selected from the following group: a hook and loop strip, a zipper, a set of buttons, snaps and magnets.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

FIG. 1 depicts an adaptive shirt in accordance with the present invention.

FIG. 2 shows the adaptive shirt according to the present invention depicting a connective seam associated with the present invention.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

The present invention relates to an adaptive shirt that includes connective seams along the vertical length of the shirt. The connective seams provide an adjustable and resealable seams that allow a user to adjust the garment accordingly in order to robe and disrobe the shirt. Further the shirt may be adapted in that the seam may be adapted to accommodate any injury that the user may be suffering from. The adaptive shirt according to present invention includes the connective seams that include a resealable mechanism to allow the seams to be sealed after the shirt has been placed onto the user. The vertical seams may be adjusted in length and also the seam may be limited in length based on the design of the shirt. In one particular embodiment, hook and loop connectors may be provided as a resealable mechanism to seal the vertical seams along the vertical length of the shirt. The vertical seams connect the front half and back half of the shirt where the shirt may include short or long sleeves depending on styling.

In reference to FIG. 1, a front view of an adaptive shirt in accordance with the present invention is depicted. The front view of the adaptive shirt includes a front half 15, a neck opening 13 and two seams, a first connective seam 10a and a second connective seam 10b. The connective seams 10a, 10b run along the vertical length of the shirt 100. These connective seams connect the front half 15 and back half of the shirt 100 although the back half is not shown. A perspective view of the connective seam is depicted in FIG. 2. This perspective view shows the second connective seam 10b that includes a resealable sealing mechanism along the inside of the connective seam 10b. Further an inside surface 17 of the front half 15 is also revealed. This connective seam may be sealed or opened as desired by the user. Normally the connective seam may be opened for the user to place the shirt onto their body. A similar connective seam is provided with a sealable sealing mechanism on the connective seam 10a.

During use these connective seams may be sealed once the user places the shirt. The length of the connective seam may vary based upon the design embodiment provided by the shirt. Further the sealable mechanism may be hook and loop connector in one particular embodiment. Further although shown as a polo-style shirt this connective seam and sealing mechanism may be utilized on sweaters, sweatshirts or other upper body garments that include sleeves of some nature. Further it may be used on sleeveless shirts to a certain extent. In addition to a hook and loop connecting hook and loop strips the sealing mechanism may be a zipper, buttons or even magnets.
