Claims
- 1. An adhesive composition for the promotion of the adhesion of a rubber substrate to a textile substrate, said composition comprising at least two layers, wherein a first layer comprises at least one RFL and a second layer, bonded directly to said RFL layer, comprises at least one component selected from the group consisting of i) at least one functional silane containing both an amine-functional group and a moiety containing a radical selected from the group consisting of a mercapto moiety, a sulfide moiety, an isocyanate moiety, an epoxy moiety, a pyridine moiety, a hydrophobic saturated alkyl moiety, and a moiety having at least one unsaturated carbon-carbon, and ii) a combination of at least one aminosilane selected from the group consisting of wherein for both (I) and (II), R is C1-C6 alkyl, R1 is an amine functional group, and R′ is an alkyl- or aromatic-acyl group.
- 2. The adhesive composition of claim 1 wherein said component as defined by ii) is present.
- 3. The adhesive composition of claim 1 wherein said component as defined by i) is present.
- 4. An adhesive composition for the promotion of the adhesion of a rubber to a textile substrate, said composition comprising at least one RFL and at least two different silane constituents; wherein said silane constituents are bonded to one another and only one of said silane constituents is bonded directly to said at least one RFL; wherein at least one of said two different silane constituents is an aminosilane and at least one of said two different silane constituents is an organo-functional silane; wherein said aminosilane is selected from the group wherein R is C1-C6 alkyl, R′ is an amine functional group, and R′ is an alkyl- or aromatic-acyl group; and wherein said at least one organo-functional silane silane constituent selected from the group, selected from the group consisting of wherein R2 is a group containing a radical selected from the group consisting of a mercapto moiety, a sulfide moiety, an isocyanate moiety, an epoxy moiety, a pyridine moiety, a hydrophobic saturated alkyl moiety, and a moiety having at least one unsaturated carbon-carbon bond, and wherein R is C1-C6 alkyl and R′ is an alkyl- or aromatic-acyl group.
