1. Fields of the Invention
The invention relates to an adhesive tape cutter, and more particularly, to an adhesive tape cutter that achieves a practical effect and ensures an easy operation.
2. Description of the Related Art
As shown in
The above-mentioned conventional structure can achieve the expected effect. However, this still has the following drawbacks:
1. When the adhesive tape roll 67 is installed such that the adhesive tape 68 passes through the adhesive tape gap 63, the adhesive tape 68 has to be curled in a strip shape for passing through the slim through hole 61 of the compression piece 62. It is obvious that the installation at the beginning is inconvenient.
2. The cutting blade 66 is fixed in an inclined upward position. This may do harm to the operating persons. Moreover, objects around in contact therewith may be scratched or damaged. A dust cover (not shown) can be employed for eliminating the above-mentioned drawbacks. However, the lifted dust cover may occupy more space, thereby affecting a smooth operation.
3. As well-known, any adhesive tape roll 67 becomes thinner after a long use. Therefore, the gap between the sleeve assembly 60 and the adhesive tape roll 67 will be gradually increased. As a result, the connection between the sleeve assembly 60 and the adhesive tape roll 67 can be achieved only by the stickiness of the adhesive tape 68. Therefore, the use must cause shaking and loosening phenomenon such that the adhesive tape 68 is detached from the adhesive tape gap 63 from time to time. The installation process must be carried out once again, thereby resulting in much trouble in use.
4. As depicted, when the adhesive tape 68 is pulled out too much and required to be rewound, the rewinding action of the adhesive tape 68 may not achieve a smooth surface of the rewound tape and may cause folds due to the shaking and loosening actions between the sleeve assembly 60 and the adhesive tape roll 67. As a result, it is difficult to take into account if the adhesive tape 68 after use is smoothly stuck to objects.
5. There is only a small space between the supporting lug 64 and the cutting blade 66 for the fingers of the user to extend thereinto for holding the adhesive tape 68 when the adhesive tape 68 is pulled out. Therefore, each user has to concentrate himself to hold the adhesive tape 68, thereby causing the operating inconvenience.
A primary object of the invention is to provide an adhesive tape cutter that includes a flat extending cutting blade that ensures an effective protection of users and objects from injury and damage. Meanwhile, a slider is employed to fold down the inclined tongues for a convenient storage. Furthermore, resilient supports are also employed for pushing against the adhesive tape roll 40 in such a manner that a constantly clamping relationship between the adhesive tape roll and the fastening portions is ensured. In this way, the adhesive tape roll and the fastening portions won't be shaken or loosened, thereby considerably increasing the operating convenience.
According to the invention, an adhesive tape cutter includes a pair of fastening portions at the right and left sides such that both sides of an adhesive tape roll are enclosed by the fastening portions. The top of the fastening portions is fitted with an inclined resilient tongue and formed with a tape-guiding slot. A slide slot is formed in the side wall of the fastening portions in which a slider of a slide cap fits in such a way that a proper sliding action is achieved. Moreover, a plurality of resilient supports are integrally formed in a tape-receiving cavity defined by both of the fastening portions such that an adhesive tape roll may be constantly pushed by the resilient supports for creating a certain clamping relationship between the adhesive tape roll and the fastening portions.
The accomplishment of this and other objects of the invention will become apparent from the following description and its accompanying drawings of which:
The present invention will now be described in more detail hereinafter with reference to the accompanying drawings that show various embodiments of the invention.
Referring to
The fastening portions 10, 20 are formed in pair at the right and left sides and provided with a plurality of locking holes 11 and locking projections 21, respectively. The locking projections 21 fit into the locking holes 11 in such a manner that both sides of an adhesive tape roll 40 are enclosed. The top of the fastening portions 10, 20 is fitted with an inclined resilient tongue 12, 22 and formed with a tape-guiding slot 13, 23 adjacent to the inclined resilient tongue 12, 22. A slide slot 14, 24 is formed in the side wall of the fastening portions 10, 20 in which a slider 31 of the slide cap 30 fits in such a way that a proper sliding action is achieved and a more reliable locking of the fastening portions 10, 20 is ensured. A plurality of resilient supports 15, 25 are integrally formed in a tape-receiving cavity defined by both of the fastening portions 10, 20 such that the adhesive tape roll 40 may be constantly pushed by the resilient supports 15, 25 for creating a certain clamping relationship between the adhesive tape roll 40 and the fastening portions 10, 20.
The slide cap 30 includes a slider 31 corresponding to the slide slot 14, 24 at both side walls of the fastening portions 10, 20. A cutting edge 32 is formed at a position corresponding to the inclined resilient tongue 12, 22 of the fastening portions 10, 20. Meanwhile, an extension tongue 33 is formed at both sides of the cutting edge 32, respectively.
An easy assembly of the above-mentioned components and the adhesive tape roll 40 is shown in
In order to avoid an excessive adhesion of the adhesive tape 41 on the adhesive tape facing surface 121, 221 of the inclined resilient tongues 12, 22, an oily release paper (not shown) is attached to the adhesive tape facing surface 121, 221.
A proper clamping force is constantly maintained between the adhesive tape roll 40 and the fastening portions 10, 20. It is only required to move the fastening portions 10, 20 in a reverse direction relative to the adhesive tape roll 40 when the adhesive tape 41 is excessively pulled out by mistake. In this way, the excessive adhesive tape 41 can be rewound to avoid an unnecessary waste.
As shown in
As described above, the pull-out of the adhesive tape 41 takes place in the following steps. First of all, the slide cap 30 is released for an automatic spring-up of the inclined resilient tongues 12, 22. Then, the adhesive tape 41 is properly pulled out. Thereafter, the slide cap 30 is pushed back to swivel both of the inclined resilient tongues 12, 22 downward. At last, the adhesive tape 41 is moved in direction to the cutting edge 32 in contact therewith for cutting off the adhesive tape 41.
According to the same design principle, the resilient supports 15, 25 can be integrally extended downward from the top of the fastening portions 10, 20 (see
In fact, the expected cutting effect is also achieved only by two fastening portions. As shown in
Many changes and modifications in the above-described embodiments of the invention can, of course, be carried out without departing from the scope thereof. Accordingly, to promote the progress in science and the useful arts, the invention is disclosed and is intended to be limited only by the scope of the appended claims.
