Abstract
The Sit-Up, adjustable back rest, helps users in sitting up in many locations: floor, bed, in a chair or in a car. This unique and ingenious invention has both back and lumbar support giving you dual benefits. The Sit-Up is adjustable, portable, foldable, durable, lightweight, good for indoors and outdoors, and has a sleek appeal. The disclosed backrest includes a base bar pair comprising crenelated notches in a top side thereof, an angle bar configured to be received into a notch in the base bar pair, a pair of side bars joined by the angle bar and a front width bar configured to join with the base bar pair and the side bars. The disclosure additionally includes a strap connected to a juncture of the pair of side bars and the front width bar.
Description
BACKGROUND

It can be difficult when sitting up in bed, or in other spots when you don't have the correct support you need for your back. Most pillows or back rests are one shape and size which doesn't always work for your sitting position. Also users of other adjustable back rests have had issues with the buckles which kept sliding so the back could not stay in one position based on the user's needs. There have been no products available as original equipment or as an aftermarket to address this problem.


An apparatus to help provide back support that can adjust to the needs of the user, in a way that is simple yet effective staying in the position desired. There have been no products available as original equipment or as an aftermarket to address this problem either.


There exists a need for a device such as the Adjustable Sit-Up Backrest that is not being met by any known or disclosed device or system of present.


SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The idea is to provide back support when working from home. However, this product will also help when lounging in the living room, outdoors or if taking care of a patient or elderly etc. The product is mainly targeted for elderly or patients who may need support.


The disclosed backrest includes a base bar pair comprising crenelated notches in a top side thereof. The backrest also includes an angle bar configured to be received into a notch in the base bar pair, a pair of side bars joined by the angle bar and a front width bar configured to join with the base bar pair and the side bars. The disclosure additionally includes a strap connected to a juncture of the pair of side bars and the front width bar.

The present disclosed Adjustable Sit-Up Backrest, also known as “Sit-Up”, improves upon the traditional back rest by adding on the picnic chair mechanism to the product. This invention provides ridges on the foldable metal bar will help users adjust their back, without slipping out of place. The thick metal will be replaced by the black picnic chair metal rod to give product a sleek appeal. The top rod will be removed, where the head cushion is placed. This will get rid of the bulks feel and make the product lighter. So, the side rods will end where the red arrow is. For the back to rest on, we will add the cool vent Cushion Mesh Back Lumbar Support which will slide on the side metal bars. Since, the cushion mesh back is removable it can be taken off to be used on a chair or a car. So, the users will be able to use the product in a variety of different ways There are two ways to use Sit-Up. Sit-Up: The invention is used be placing it on the floor, bed or outdoors and adjusting the back so it comes to a user's desired position. The metal adjustable rods provide a strong support, so the back doesn't keep sliding. The removable back mesh cushion can also be removed to be used in a car or chair (office/home office). Once back to work, you can use it in your office.


Although the operations of the method(s) herein are shown and described in a particular order, the order of the operations of each method may be altered so that certain operations may be performed in an inverse order or so that certain operations may be performed, at least in part, concurrently with other operations. In another embodiment, instructions or sub-operations of distinct operations may be implemented in an intermittent and/or alternating manner.

Claims
  • 1. A backrest comprising: a base bar comprising crenelated notches in a top side thereof;an angle bar configured to be received into a notch in the base bar;a pair of side bars joined by the angle bar; anda front width bar configured to join with the base bar and the side bars.
  • 2. The backrest of claim 1, further comprising a strap connected to a juncture of the pair of side bars and the front width bar.
  • 3. The backrest of claim 1, further comprising a clasp configured to secure the angle bar received into a notch in the base bar.
  • 4. The backrest of claim 1, further comprising a clasp configured to secure the base bar and one of the pair of side bars.
  • 5. The backrest of claim 1, further comprising a second base bar having crenelated notches in a top side thereof to receive the angle bar and joined to the front width bar.
  • 6. The backrest of claim 1, further comprising a mesh back lumbar support material configured to span a distance between the pair of side bars and receive a user's back.
  • 7. The backrest of claim 1, wherein the front width bar comprises a concave curvature to receive a user's back.
  • 8. The backrest of claim 1, further comprising a telescoping back width bar configured to a curvature width of a user's shoulders.
  • 9. The backrest of claim 1, further comprising a strap connected to a juncture of the pair of side bars and the front width bar and having a girth adjustable to a waist of the user.
  • 10. The backrest of claim 1, further comprising a strap connected to a juncture of the pair of side bars and the front width bar and having a girth adjustable to a chest measurement of the user.
  • 11. A backrest comprising: a base bar pair comprising crenelated notches in a top side thereof;an angle bar configured to be received into a notch in the base bar pair;a pair of side bars joined by the angle bar;a front width bar configured to join with the base bar pair and the side bars; anda strap connected to a juncture of the pair of side bars and the front width bar.
  • 12. The backrest of claim 11, further comprising a clasp configured to secure the angle bar received into a notch in the base bar pair.
  • 13. The backrest of claim 11, further comprising a clasp configured to secure one of the base bar pair and one of the pair of side bars.
  • 14. The backrest of claim 11, further comprising a mesh back lumbar support material configured to span a distance between the pair of side bars and receive a user's back.
  • 15. The backrest of claim 11, wherein the front width bar comprises a concave curvature to receive a user's back.
  • 16. The backrest of claim 11, further comprising a telescoping back width bar configured to a curvature width of a user's shoulders.
  • 17. The backrest of claim 11, further comprising a strap connected to a juncture of the pair of side bars and the front width bar and having a girth adjustable to a waist of the user.
  • 18. The backrest of claim 11, further comprising a strap connected to a juncture of the pair of side bars and the front width bar and having a girth adjustable to a chest measurement of the user.
