Claims
- 1. A slip form for continuously molding concrete highway barrier walls having exposed, spaced, vertically extending, contoured walls having a top comprising, in combination, a support member adapted to be mounted upon a movable vehicle, said support member including spaced, first and second lateral portions, first and second sidewalls mounted on said first and second lateral portions, respectively, for relative vertical adjustment with respect to each other, said first and second sidewalls each including lower portions adjustably supported for vertical movement in a path of adjustment upon said first and second lateral portions, said first and second sidewalls each including contoured upper portions mounted upon said first and second lateral portions, disposed adjacent and substantially parallel to the path of adjustment of said adjustable lower portions and selectively vertically adjustable thereto and selectively connectible to the associated lateral portion or lower portion, locking means selectively connecting said upper portions to said associated lateral portion or lower portion, and means mounted on said support member connected to said adjustable sidewall lower portions for adjusting the vertical position thereof.
- 2. An open end slip form for continuously molding concrete highway barrier walls having exposed, spaced, vertically extending, contoured walls having a top comprising, in combination, a support member, first and second contoured sidewalls mounted on said support member is spaced and opposed relationship, said sidewalls each including an upper portion and a lower portion, the horizontal spacing between said upper portions being less than the horizontal spacing between said lower portions, guide means mounted on said support member movably supporting at least one of said sidewalls on said support member for vertical adjustment relative to the other sidewall, power driven adjustment means connected to said one sidewall controlling vertical adjustment thereof, vertical adjustment of said one sidewall relative to said other sidewall varying the relative vertical positions of the wall contours formed by said sidewalls and varying the horizontal spacing between portions of said sidewalls and the exposed horizontal thickness of the wall formed by the form at predetermined vertical locations.
- 3. In an open end slip form as in claim 2 wherein said sidewalls are obliquely disposed to the vertical and converge in an upward direction.
- 4. In an open end slip form as in claim 2 wherein said one sidewall includes a substantially horizontal top portion defined thereon extending from the associated upper portion toward said other sidewall, said top portion defining the wall top and being vertically adjustable with said one sidewall.
- 5. In an open end slip form as in claim 1 wherein guide means are mounted on said support member movably supporting both of said sidewalls for vertical adjustment, said adjustment means being connected to each of said sidewalls for controlling vertical adjustment thereof.
- 6. In an open end slip form as in claim 5 wherein said guide means and sidewalls are obliquely disposed to the vertical and converge in an upward direction.
- 7. An open end slip form for continuously molding concrete highway barrier walls having exposed, spaced, vertically extending, contoured walls having a top comprising, in combination, a support member, first and second contoured sidewalls mounted on said support member in spaced and opposed relationship, said sidewalls each including an upper portion and a lower portion, the horizontal spacing between said upper portions being less than the horizontal spacing between said lower portions, guide means mounted on said support member movably supporting at least one of said sidewalls on said support member for vertical adjustment relative to the other sidewall, power driven adjustment means connected to said one sidewall controlling vertical adjustment thereof, vertical adjustment of said one sidewall relative to said other sidewall varying the relative vertical positions of the wall contours formed by said sidewalls and varying the horizontal spacing between portions of said sidewalls and the exposed horizontal thickness of the wall formed by the form at predetermined vertical locations, and sensing means sensing a stationary control element controlling said power driven adjustment means.
