DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
[0017] A preferred embodiment of an adjustable table in the present invention, as shown in FIGS. 2, 3 and 4, includes a tabletop 2, a foot frame 3 and a telescopic tube 4 as main components combined together.
[0018] The tabletop 2 has a combining plate 20 fixed at the bottom, and having two threaded holes 200 and at least one engage groove 201.
[0019] The foot frame 3 positioned under the tabletop 2 is composed of a sleeve 30, a movable ring 31, a plurality of support legs 32 and a fixing ring 33. The sleeve 30 has its upper inner wall bored with an annular groove 300, with an adjusting bolt 34 screwed through the sleeve wall above the annular groove 300. The movable ring 31 is fitted around the sleeve 30, able to move up and down along the sleeve 30 and having an adjusting bolt 35 provided at one side, while the fixing ring 33 is secured on the lower end of the sleeve 30. The support legs 32 have their upper ends pivotally connected with the movable toggle 31, plural pivotal stretchers 320 are respectively and pivotally connected with the support legs 32 and the fixing toggle 33. Besides, at least one hook 36 is provided at a proper location of the foot frame 3 to be hooked with the engage groove 201 of the combining plate 20 under the tabletop 2. Thus, the movable ring 31 is able to slide up and down along the sleeve 30 and actuate the support legs 32 to expand outward like an umbrella and then is firmly positioned on the sleeve 30 by the adjusting bolt 35, enabling the support legs 32 to be expanded to a preset angle and positioned. Further, the pivotal stretchers 320 respectively and pivotally connected with the support legs 32 and the fixing ring 33 makes the support legs 32 stand stably on the ground and able to lean against the sleeve 30 after collapsed.
[0020] The telescopic tube 4 has its upper end assembled with the tabletop 2 and its lower end inserted in the sleeve 30 of the foot frame 3. The telescopic tube 4 has a connecting plate 40 formed on top and to be combined with the combining plate 20 of the tabletop 2. The connecting plate 40 of the telescopic tube 4 is bored with two threaded holes 41 corresponding to the two threaded holes 200 of the combining plate 20, with bolts 44 respectively screwed through the threaded holes 41 and 200 to combine the telescopic tube 4 with the table top 2 together. Further, the telescopic tube 4 has its bottom end fixed with a bumper 42 and inserted in the sleeve 30 of the foot frame 3 and is further provided at a lower proper position with an elastic stopper 43, which is received inside the telescopic tube 4 and has its opposite ends protruding out of the outer wall of the telescopic tube 4. The elastic stopper 43 can be engaged in the annular groove 300 in the inner wall of the sleeve 30 to prevent the telescopic tube 4 from slipping out of the sleeve 30 due to applying force improperly.
[0021] In assembling and using, as shown in FIGS. 2-5, the telescopic tube 4 has its lower end with the bumper 42 inserted in the sleeve 30 of the foot frame 3, and its connecting plate 40 combined together with the combining plate 20 of the table top 2 by the bolts 44 respectively screwed through the threaded holes 41 and 200. The foot frame 3 is able to move up and down along the sleeve 30 by means of the movable ring 31, therefore when the movable ring 31 is moved downward, it will actuate the pivotal support legs 32 to expand outward simultaneously in an umbrella shape. When the support legs 32 expand to a proper angle and the movable ring 31 is firmly screwed on the sleeve 30, they can stand stably on the ground.
[0022] To move the tabletop 2 to a comparatively low position, simply press down the tabletop 2 to let the telescopic tube 4 move downward slowly in the sleeve 30 with the help of its bumper 42. When the tabletop 2 together with the telescopic tube 4 is moved downward to a suitable height, it can be fixed in position by screwing the adjusting bolt 34 inward to let it tightly press against the telescopic tube 4. On the contrary, to move the table top 2 upward, only unscrew the adjusting bolt 34 of the sleeve 30 and move the table top 2 upward together with the telescopic tube 4, and when the table top 2 is moved to a preset height, screw tightly the adjusting bolt 34 to position the table top 2 at a suitable height. Besides, the elastic stopper 43 of the telescopic tube 4 can be firmly engaged in the annular groove 300 in the inner wall of the sleeve 30 to prevent the telescopic tube 4 from slipping out of the sleeve 30 due to applying a force improperly.
[0023] In addition, the tabletop 2 can be turned around for 360 degrees by unscrewing the adjusting bolt 34 on the sleeve 30 to enable the telescopic tube 4 to rotate, facilitating articles taken off the tabletop 2.
[0024] In collapsing of the adjustable table, as shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, the bolts 44 are first unscrewed to let the telescopic tube 4 together with the foot frame 3 separated from the table top 2, and then the telescopic tube 4 is pressed downward and entirely received in the sleeve 30. Next, the adjusting bolt 35 is unscrewed to let the movable ring 31 moved upward, and synchronously the support legs 32 together with their pivotal stretchers 320 are collapsed to lean against the sleeve 30. Lastly, the collapsed foot frame 3 together with the telescopic tube 4 is stably positioned at the bottom of the table top 2 by the hook 36 of the foot frame 3, which stably hooks the engage groove 201 at the bottom of the table top 2, thus enabling the table top 2 to stand up sideward to economize storing space and let the adjustable table carried about conveniently.
[0025] As can be understood from the above description, this invention has the following advantages.
[0026] 1. It can be assembled, disassembled easily and collapsed conveniently.
[0027] 2. It can be adjusted to a suitable height to match with the height of a chair or a user, and it also can be turned around for 360 degrees for facilitating taking articles from the tabletop.
[0028] 3. When the tabletop is pressed to move downward together with the telescopic tube, the bumper can slow down the telescopic tube, letting the tabletop screwed in position conveniently when it is moved downward to a suitable height.
[0029] 4. The sleeve is bored with an annular groove in the upper inner wall for the elastic stopper of the telescopic tube to be engaged therein to prevent the telescopic tube from slipping out of the sleeve due to applying a force improperly.
[0030] 5. It can be collapsed with quickness to diminish its size and economize storing space.
[0031] 6. It can be used indoors or outdoors, and it is also suitable for use in the open air, regardless of the topography.
[0032] 7. The support leg of the foot frame can be simultaneously expanded to stand stably on the ground, and the telescopic tube can be quickly assembled with the tabletop, practical and convenient in use.
[0033] While the preferred embodiment of the invention has been described above, it will be recognized and understood that various modifications may be made therein and the appended claims are intended to cover all such modifications that may fall within the spirit and scope of the invention.
