The overarching goal of the Administrative Core is to facilitate and promote the successful operation of the Center of Excellence (CoE) and sustain its place In the University's infrastructure by: 1) providing administrative support and oversight of center activities to ensure completion of its Specific Aims; 2) promoting synergy and effective collaborations among the Cores; 3) working closely with Core Directors in the conduct of each Core's Specific Aims; 4) coordinating the activities of the CoE's advisory boards (both scientific and community-based) to ensure that the CoE's scientific objectives retain their high level of public health significance and relevance in addressing current and emerging health disparities in rural populations; 5) engaging in broad dissemination activities to increase the reach and impact of the CoE's projects; and 6) to support and grow the network of community partners for proposed (and future) activities. To this end, its activities will be intertwined with each Core activity, from planning to evaluation. Its focus will be on ensuring that all CoE activities are on schedule, appropriate and within scope of CoE supported activities, operating under appropriate institutional and funder approvals, and properly evaluated to demonstrate its impact on the elimination of rural health disparities. The Core will also manage the overall budget of the Initiative, monitor spend-down within each individual Core, and ensure all funder reporting requirements are met in a timely manner.
