Claims
- 1. An adsorbent for ink jet use arranged in a position to be in contact with ink having a hydrophobic substance and a colorant, said adsorbent having a higher capability of adsorption with respect to the hydrophobic substance than the colorant, said adsorbent having at least one kind of hydrophobic group selected from among an alkyl group, an aryl group, a trialkylsilyl group and a cyanoalkyl group.
- 2. An adsorbent for ink jet use according to claim 1, wherein said adsorbent for ink jet use comprises a silica gel.
- 3. An adsorbent for ink jet use according to claim 2, wherein an adsorption treatment is given to said adsorbent.
- 4. An adsorbent for ink jet use according to claim 7, wherein said adsorption treatment is executed by use of an interfacial active agent.
- 5. An adsorbent for ink jet use according to claim 4, wherein said interfacial active agent is HLB 8 or more.
- 6. An adsorbent for ink jet use according to claim 4, wherein a surface tension of said interfacial active agent is 40 dyne/cm or less at the time of being prepared as 0.5% water solution.
- 7. An adsorbent for ink jet use according to claim 1, wherein said hydrophobic group is a long chain alkyl group having carbon numbers of 8 to 18 or a phenyl group.
- 8. An adsorbent for ink jet use according to claim 1, wherein said hydrophobic group is an octadecyl group or a phenyl group.
- 9. An adsorbent for ink jet use according to claim 1, wherein said adsorbent for ink jet use comprises a polymer.
- 10. An adsorbent for ink jet use according to claim 9, wherein said polymer is crosslinked poly (metha) acrylic acid ester resin or crosslinked polystyrene resin.
- 11. An adsorbent for ink jet use according to claim 10, wherein said crosslinked resin is porously granular.
- 12. An adsorbent member provided to an ink supply route, the adsorbent member being insoluble to ink and having a higher capability of adsorption with respect to a hydrophobic substance than a colorant contained in ink, the adsorbent member being arranged by either a silica gel having a hydrophobic group inducted onto a surface thereof or a polymer having a hydrophobic group induced onto a chain thereof, or a combination thereof, the adsorbent member being disposed at a position to be in contact with ink.
- 13. An adsorbent member according to claim 12, wherein said hydrophobic group is at least one kind selected from among a long chain alkyl group, an aryl group, a trialkylsilyl group and a cyanoalkyl group.
- 14. An adsorbent member according to claim 12, wherein said hydrophobic group is a long chain alkyl group having carbon numbers of 8 to 18 or a phenyl group.
- 15. An adsorbent member according to claim 12, wherein said hydrophobic group is an octadecyl group or a phenyl group.
- 16. An adsorbent member according to claim 12, wherein said adsorbent member is in a form of sheet or pellet, or in a mode carried or dispersedly held by a supporting member.
- 17. An adsorbent member according to claim 12, wherein an adsorbed hydrophobic substance can be removed from said adsorbent member with alcoholic treatment and said adsorbent member can be reused.
- 18. An adsorbent member provided to an ink supply route, the adsorbent member being insoluble to ink and having a higher capability of adsorption with respect to a hydrophobic substance than a colorant contained in ink, the adsorbent member being arranged by either a silica gel having a hydrophobic group inducted onto a surface thereof or a polymer having a hydrophobic group induced onto a chain thereof, or a combination thereof, the adsorbent member being disposed at a position to be in contact with ink, said hydrophobic substance being received by a fine hole of said silica gel or polymer itself and being adsorbed by said hydrophobic group inducted onto said silica gel or polymer.
- 19. An adsorbent member according to claim 18, a granular diameter of said silica gel and polymer is ranged from 10 μm to 1000 μm.
- 20. An adsorbent member according to claim 18, wherein an adsorbed hydrophobic substance can be removed from said adsorbent member with alcoholic treatment and said adsorbent member can be reused.
