Claims
- 1. A system for managing and automating advertising within a distributed network, comprising:
sales means for scheduling rotation of an advertisement; manager means for maintaining system integrity; accounting means for developing or maintaining price structure for said advertisement; reporting means for producing statistics related to said advertisement; and trafficking means for controlling distribution of said advertisement.
- 2. The system of claim 1, wherein said sales means comprises:
means for associating said advertisement to a pricing rate, an media rotation schedule, a media priority, a distribution time, a category associated with a media production, a duration for servicing said advertisement, and/or a maximum quantity for distributing said advertisement.
- 3. The system of claim 1, wherein said manager means comprises:
security means for setting and/or modifying a security protocol, said security protocol configurable to govern user access and/or user control of one of more system components.
- 4. The system of claim 1, wherein said manager means comprises:
logging means for monitoring and/or tracking user activity.
- 5. The system of claim 1, wherein said manager means comprises:
addressing means for enabling changes to architectural addresses and/or host server file structure.
- 6. The system of claim 1, wherein said manager means comprises:
branding means for modifying branding of a player, said player being capable of displaying said advertisement.
- 7. The system of claim 1, wherein said trafficking means comprises:
insertion means for integrating said advertisement in a media stream at a designated point of insertion.
- 8. The system of claim 1, wherein said trafficking means comprises:
approval means for enabling the preview and/or approval of said advertisement.
- 9. The system of claim 1, wherein said trafficking means comprises:
encoding means for encoding said advertisement for distribution.
- 10. The system of claim 1, wherein said trafficking means comprises:
monitoring means for tracking and/or notifying changes in status of said advertisement.
- 11. A method of managing and automating advertising within a distributed network:
(1) scheduling rotation of an advertisement; (2) maintaining system integrity; (3) developing or maintaining price structure for said advertisement; (4) producing statistics related to said advertisement; and (5) controlling distribution of said advertisement.
- 12. The method of claim 11, wherein step (1) comprises:
(a) associating a pricing rate with said advertisement.
- 13. The method of claim 12, further comprising the step of:
(b) deriving said pricing rate from at least one of a pricing rate type, an advertisement media type, an advertisement media rotation schedule, an advertisement media priority, a time for distributing a media production, a category associated with a media production, a duration of said advertisement, and a quantity of distributed advertisements.
- 14. The method of claim 13, wherein said pricing rate type is fixed or variable.
- 15. The method of claim 13, wherein said advertisement media type is banner, button, or video.
- 16. The method of claim 13, wherein said advertisement media rotation schedule is broadcast or on demand.
- 17. The method of claim 13, wherein said advertisement media priority type is exclusive, targeted, or non-targeted.
- 18. The method of claim 11, wherein said step (1) further comprises the step of:
(a) definitizing contractual relations with a customer promoting said advertisement.
- 19. The method of claim 11, wherein said step (1) further comprises the step of:
(a) scheduling said advertisement for distribution with a live broadcast, an as-live broadcast, and/or an on-demand video.
- 20. The method of claim 11, wherein said step (1) further comprises the step of:
(a) scheduling said advertisement for distribution to an exclusive, targeted, or non-targeted recipient.
- 21. The method of claim 20, further comprising the step of:
(b) considering a date and/or time for distributing a media production and/or a category associated with a media production to determine said exclusive recipient or said targeted recipient.
- 22. The method of claim 11, wherein step (2) comprises:
(a) setting user roles to govern access and/or control of one or more system components.
- 23. The method of claim 11, wherein step (5) comprises:
(a) verifying availability of said advertisement prior to distributing said advertisement to a recipient.
- 24. The method of claim 11, wherein step (5) comprises:
(a) enabling preview and/or approval of said advertisement prior to distributing said advertisement to a recipient.
- 25. The method of claim 11, wherein step (5) comprises:
(a) tracking or notifying changes in status of said advertisement.
- 26. The method of claim 11, wherein step (5) comprises:
(a) encoding said advertisement for distribution to a recipient.
- 27. The method of claim 1, wherein step (1) comprises:
(a) scheduling rotation of said advertisement across at least two of an over-the-air broadcast medium, the Internet, a terrestrial cable communications medium, and a satellite medium.
- 28. A method of distributing enhanced media productions over a communication network, comprising the step of:
(1) accessing a plurality of media segments from a live media production source; (2) inserting an audio and/or video advertisement within said plurality of media segments, such that said audio and/or video advertisement and said media segments are enabled to be presented in series with each other; and (3) associating a non-linear advertisement with at least one of said media segments, such that said non-linear advertisement and said at least one media segment are enabled to be presented in parallel with each other.
- 29. The method of claim 28, wherein step (3) comprises:
(1) preventing a client device from dissociating said non-linear advertisement from said at least one media segment during presentation on said client device.
