Claims
- 1. An aerosol system comprising a container, a sprayable material, and a valve assembly that sprays the sprayable material from the container, wherein the valve assembly comprises:a dip tube with a top opening and a bottom opening, wherein the dip tube is at least primarily disposed inside the container; a rod with a top end and a bottom end that is adapted to move lengthwise within the dip tube, wherein the rod is at least primarily disposed within the dip tube; a sealing member coupled to the bottom end of the rod, forming a tight-seal with the bottom opening of the dip tube when the rod is in an up position, and opening the bottom opening of the dip tube when the rod is in a down position; and an actuator with an aperture forming a nozzle opening.
- 2. The valve assembly according to claim 1, wherein the actuator is made of an elastic material.
- 3. The valve assembly according to claim 1, further comprising a spring member engaging the actuator to provide a spring-load for the actuator.
- 4. The valve assembly according to claim 1, wherein the sealing member is made of rubber.
- 5. The valve assembly according to claim 1, wherein the sealing member and the rod are comprised of a unitary member.
- 6. The valve assembly according to claim 1, further comprising a cup for attaching the valve assembly to the container.
- 7. The aerosol system as in claim 1, wherein the sprayable material is selected from the group consisting of a heavy material, a particulate material, and a viscous material.
- 8. The aerosol system as in claim 1, further including a bushing coupled to the top opening of the dip tube.
- 9. The valve assembly according to claim 1, further comprising a spring member engaging the bottom end of the rod to provide a spring-load for the actuator.
- 10. The valve assembly according to claim 1, wherein the sprayable material is a high-pressure spray.
- 11. An aerosol system comprising a container, a sprayable material, and a valve assembly that sprays the sprayable material from the container, wherein the valve assembly comprises:a dip tube with a top opening and a bottom opening, wherein the dip tube is at least primarily disposed inside the container; an interior tube with a top end and a bottom end that is adapted to move lengthwise within the dip tube, wherein the interior tube is at least primarily disposed within the dip tube; at least one orifice at the bottom end of the interior tube; a first seal coupled to the interior tube adjacent to and above the at least one orifice to form a seal to prevent bypass of the sprayable material into the dip tube when the interior tube is in a down position; a second seal coupled to the bottom end of the interior tube; and an actuator with an aperture forming a nozzle opening.
- 12. The valve assembly according to claim 11, further comprising a spring member, wherein the spring member engages the actuator to provide a spring-load for the actuator.
- 13. The valve assembly according to claim 12, wherein a spring member retainer is coupled to the top end of the interior tube to retain the spring member on the interior tube.
- 14. The valve assembly according to claim 11, further comprising a cup for attaching the valve assembly to the container.
- 15. The aerosol system as in claim 11, wherein the sprayable material is selected from the group consisting of a heavy material, a particulate material, and a viscous material.
- 16. The aerosol system as in claim 11, wherein the second seal and the interior tube are comprised of a unitary member.
- 17. The aerosol system as in claim 11, further including a bushing coupled to the top opening of the dip tube.
- 18. The valve assembly according to claim 7, further comprising a cup coupled to the bushing for attaching the valve assembly to the container.
- 19. The valve assembly according to claim 11, further comprising a spring member, wherein the spring member engages the bottom end of the interior tube to provide a spring-load for the actuator.
- 20. The valve assembly according to claim 11, wherein the sprayable material is a high-pressure spray.
- 21. An aerosol system comprising a container, a sprayable material, and a valve assembly that sprays the sprayable material from the container, wherein the valve assembly comprises:a dip tube having a top opening, wherein the dip tube is at least primarily disposed inside the container; an interior tube with a top end and a bottom end that is adapted to move lengthwise within the dip tube, wherein the interior tube is at least primarily disposed within the dip tube; at least one orifice towards the bottom end of the interior tube; a first seal coupled to the interior tube adjacent to and above the at least one orifice to form a seal to prevent bypass of the sprayable material into the dip tube when the interior tube is in a down position; a second seal coupled to the bottom end of the interior tube to seal the valve assembly when the interior tube is in an up position; at least one orifice on the dip tube adapted to be in flow alignment with the at least one orifice of the interior tube when the interior tube is in the down position; and an actuator with an aperture forming a nozzle opening coupled to the top end of the interior tube.
- 22. The valve assembly according to claim 21, further comprising a spring member, wherein the spring member engages the actuator to provide a spring-load for the actuator.
- 23. The valve assembly according to claim 22, wherein a spring member retainer is coupled to the top end of the interior tube to retain the spring member on the interior tube.
- 24. The aerosol system as in claim 21, wherein the sprayable material is selected from the group consisting of a heavy material, a particulate material, and a viscous material.
- 25. The aerosol system as in claim 21, wherein the first and the second seals are O-rings.
- 26. The aerosol system as in claim 21, further including a bushing coupled to the top opening of the dip tube.
- 27. The valve assembly according to claim 21, further comprising a spring member, wherein the spring member engages the bottom end of the interior tube to provide a spring-load for the actuator.
- 28. The valve assembly according to claim 21, wherein the sprayable material is a high-pressure spray.
- 29. A method of applying a sprayable material onto a surface area to form a textured surface, the method comprising the steps of:storing the sprayable material in a fluid-tight aerosol dispensing container having a valve assembly for application to the surface area, wherein the valve assembly comprises: a dip tube with a top opening and a bottom opening, wherein the dip tube is at least primarily disposed inside the container, a rod with a top end and a bottom end that is adapted to move lengthwise within the dip tube, wherein the rod is at least primarily disposed within the dip tube; a sealing member coupled to the bottom end of the rod, forming a tight-seal with the bottom opening of the dip tube when the rod is in an up position, and opening the bottom opening of the dip tube when the rod is in a down position, and an actuator coupled to the top end of the rod, wherein the fluid-tight aerosol dispensing container has a nozzle opening for dispensing the sprayable material using a pressure from the fluid-tight aerosol dispensing container in the form of an aerosol spray; and selectively dispensing the sprayable material onto the surface area such that the sprayable material forms a layer having an irregular surface texture after being dispensed.
- 30. The aerosol system as in claim 29, wherein the material is selected from the group consisting of a heavy sprayable material, a sprayable particulate material, and a sprayable viscous material.
- 31. The valve assembly according to claim 29, wherein the sealing member and the rod are comprised of a unitary member.
- 32. The aerosol system as in claim 29, further including a bushing coupled to the top opening of the dip tube.
- 33. The method according to claim 29, wherein the sprayable material is dispensed under high pressure.
- 34. A method of applying a sprayable material onto a surface area to form a textured surface, the method comprising the steps of:storing the sprayable material in a fluid-tight aerosol dispensing container having a valve assembly for application to the surface area, wherein the valve assembly comprises: a dip tube with a top opening and a bottom opening, wherein at the dip tube is at least primarily disposed inside the container, an interior tube with a top end and a bottom end adapted to move lengthwise within the dip tube, wherein the interior tube is at least primarily disposed inside the dip tube, at least one orifice at the bottom end of the interior tube, a first seal coupled to the interior tube adjacent to and above the at least one orifice to form a seal to prevent bypass of the sprayable material into the dip tube when the interior tube is in a down position, a second seal coupled to the bottom end of the interior tube to seal the valve assembly when the interior tube is in an up position, and an actuator coupled to the top end of the interior tube, wherein the fluid-tight aerosol dispensing container has a nozzle opening for dispensing the sprayable material using a pressure from the fluid-tight aerosol dispensing container in the form of an aerosol spray; and selectively dispensing the sprayable material onto the surface area such that the sprayable material forms a layer having an irregular surface texture.
- 35. The valve assembly as in claim 34, wherein the first and the second seals are O-rings.
- 36. The method according to claim 34, wherein the sprayable material is dispensed under high pressure.
- 37. A method of applying a sprayable material onto a surface area to form a textured surface, the method comprising the steps of:storing the sprayable material in a fluid-tight aerosol dispensing container having a valve assembly for application to the surface area, wherein the valve assembly comprises: a dip tube having a top opening, wherein the dip tube is primarily disposed inside the container, an interior tube with a top end and a bottom end that is adapted to move lengthwise within the dip tube, wherein the interior tube is at least primarily disposed within the dip tube, at least one orifice at the bottom end of the interior tube, a first seal coupled to the interior tube adjacent to and above the at least one orifice to form a seal to prevent bypass of the sprayable material into the dip tube when the interior tube is in a down position, a second seal coupled to the bottom end of the interior tube to seal the valve assembly when the interior tube is in an up position, at least one exterior orifice on the dip tube adapted to be in flow alignment with the at least one orifice of the interior tube when the interior tube is in the down position, and an actuator coupled to the top end of the interior tube, wherein the fluid-tight aerosol dispensing container has a nozzle opening for dispensing the sprayable material using a pressure from the fluid-tight aerosol dispensing container in the form of an aerosol spray; and selectively dispensing the sprayable material onto the surface area such that the sprayable material forms a layer having an irregular surface texture after being dispensed.
- 38. The valve assembly as in claim 37, wherein the first and the second seals are O-rings.
- 39. The method according to claim 37, wherein the sprayable material is dispensed under high pressure.
