Claims
- 1. Agents for the detection of esterolytic and/or proteolytic enzymes containing:
- (a) a chromogenic enzyme substrate and
- (b) a diazonium salt,
- wherein the chromogenic enzyme substrate is a compound of the general formula: ##STR5## in which X.sub.1 and X.sub.2 are identical or different and are nitrogen or sulphur, with the proviso thaqt X.sub.1 and X.sub.2 are not simultaneously sulphur;
- R.sub.1 is hydrogen or a branched alkyl group which has 1 to 6 carbon atome which can be substituted by halogen or hydroxyl;
- R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are identical or different and are hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl groups, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkoxy groups, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -acyl groups, halogen, trifluoromethyl, nitro, SO.sub.3 H, cyano, C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 -acylamino groups, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -dialkylamino groups or C.sub.6 -C.sub.10 -aryl groups, which can in turn be further substituted by C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl groups, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkoxy group, halogen, cyano, nitro, trifluoromethyl, SO.sub.3 H, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -acyl groups or C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -dialkylamino groups, or
- R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 together form a fused-on aromatic ring which can in turn be substituted by 1 to 2 radicals R.sub.2 ;
- A is a naturally occurring amino acid radical or a peptide radical of 2 to 8 naturally occurring amino acids; and
- G is hydrogen or a nitrogen-protective group which is usual in peptide chemistry or derived from such a group.
- 2. Agents according to claim 1 which also contain a buffer.
- 3. The analytical process for the detection of esterolytic and/or proteolytic enzymes in a liquid sample, said process comprises contacting a liquid sample with an agent according to claim 1 and thereafter detecting the presence of any esterolytic and/or proteolytic enzymes.
- 4. The analytical process for the detection of esterolytic and/or proteolytic enzymes in a liquid sample, said process comprising contacting a liquid sample with an agent according to claim 2 and thereafter detecting the presence of any esterolytic and/or proteolytic enzymes.
