Claims
- 1. A herbicidal mixture consisting essentially of an effective amount of a compound
- A. Is selected from: ##STR665## R is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl or C.sub.2 -C.sub.4 alkenyl; X is CH.sub.3, OCH.sub.3 or OC.sub.2 H.sub.5 ;
- Y is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy or Cl; and
- Z is CH or N;
- and their agriculturally suitable salts, and
- B. Is selected from :
- 3-amino-2,5-dichlorobenzoic acid;
- N-(2,chloroethyl)-2,6-dinitro-N-propyl-4-(trifluoromethyl)aniline;
- 3,5-dinitro-N,N-dipropylsulfanilamide;
- N-(1-ethylpropyl)-3,4-dimethyl-2,6-dinitrobenzeneamine;
- N-(cyclopropylmethyl)-1,1,1-trifluoro-2,6-dinitro-N-propyl-p-toluidine;
- 3-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1-methoxy-1-methylurea;
- 2-chloro-2',6'-diethyl-N-(methoxymethyl)acetanilide;
- 2-chloro-N-(2-ethyl-6-methylphenyl)-N-(2,methoxy-1-methylethyl)acetamide;
- a,a,a-trifluoro-2,6-dinitro-N,N-dipropyl-p-toluidine
- N-phosphonomethylglycine;
- 1,1'-dimethyl-4,4'-bipyridinium ion;

- 2. A mixture of claim 1 where
- A. Is selected from
- 1-propenyl-2-[[4,6-dimethoxypyrimidin-2-yl)aminocarbonyl]aminosulfonyl]benzoate;
- Methyl-2-[[(4-methoxy-6-methyl-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)aminocarbonyl]aminosulfonyl]benzoate; or
- Methyl-2-[[(4,6,dimethylpyrimidin-2-yl)aminocarbonyl]aminosulfonyl]benzoate; and
- B. Is selected from:
- N-(1-ethylpropyl)-3,4-dimethyl-2,6-dinitrobenzeneamine;
- 3-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1-methoxy-1-methylurea;
- 2-chloro-2',6'-diethyl-N-(methoxymethyl)acetanilide;
- 1,1'dimethyl-4,4'-bipyridinium ion;
- 5-[2,4-dimethyl-5-[[(trifluoromethyl)sulfonyl]amino]phenyl]acetamide;
- 2-[4-(2,4-dichlorophenoxy)phenoxy]propanoic acid;
- 4-amino-6-t-butyl-3-(methylthio)-as-triazin-5(4H)-one;
- 3,5-dibromo-4-hydroxybenzonitrile;

- 3. A mixture of claim 1 where B is selected from
- 3-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1-methoxy-1-methylurea;
- 4-amino-6-t-butyl-3-(methylthio)as-triazin-5(4H)-one; and
- 5-[2-chloro-4-(trifluoromethyl)phenoxy]-3-nitrobenzoic acid.
- 4. A mixture of claim 1 where B is selected from
- N-(1-ethylpropyl)-3,4-dimethyl-2,6-dinitrobenzeneamine;
- 3-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1-methoxy-1-methylurea;
- 2-chloro-2',6'-diethyl-N-(methoxymethyl)acetanilide;
- 1,1'-dimethyl-4,4'-bipyridinium ion;
- 5-[2-chloro-4-(trifluoromethyl)phenoxy]-2-nitrobenzoic acid;
- 2-[4-(2,4-dichlorophenoxy)phenoxy]propanoic acid;
- 4-amino-6-t-butyl-3-(methylthio)-as-triazin-5(4H)-one;
- 3,5-dibromo-4-hydroxybenzonitrile;
- 1,2-dimethyl-3,5-diphenyl-1H-pyrazolium;

- 5. A composition suitable for controlling the growth of undesired vegetation which comprises an effective amount of a mixture of claim 1 and at least one of the following: surfactant, solid or liquid diluent.
- 6. A composition suitable for controlling the growth of undesired vegetation which comprises an effective amount of a mixture of claim 2 and at least one of the following: surfactant, solid or liquid diluent.
- 7. A composition suitable for controlling the growth of undesired vegetation which comprises an effective amount of a mixture of claim 3 and at least one of the following: surfactant, solid or liquid diluent.
- 8. A composition suitable for controlling the growth of undesired vegetation which comprises an effective amount of a mixture of claim 4 and at least one of the following: surfactant, solid or liquid diluent.
- 9. A method for controlling the growth of undesired vegetation which comprises applying to the locus to be protected an effective amount of a mixture of claim 2.
- 10. A method for controlling the growth of undesired vegetation which comprises applying to the locus to be protected an effective amount of a mixture of claim 3.
- 11. A method for controlling the growth of undesired vegetation which comprises applying to the locus to be protected an effective amount of a mixture of claim 4.
- 12. A method for controlling the growth of undesired vegetation which comprises applying to the locus to be protected an effective amount of a mixture of claim 5.
