Claims
- 1. An air conditioning system for conditioning the air at each of a plurality of locations, said system comprising monitoring means provided at each location for monitoring parameters of the environment at that location, each of said monitoring means comprising at least two sensors, each of said sensors being arranged to sense a different parameter of the environment at the associated location and to produce an output signal dependent upon the sensed parameter, and air delivery means provided at each location, each air delivery means being adapted to be connected to receive air from a common input air delivery device and arranged to deliver air to its associated location, and each of said air delivery means being responsive to the output signals of the monitoring means at that location, the sensors of at least one of the monitoring means comprising an infrared thermometer responsive to radiant heat at the associated location and a pollutant sensor responsive to pollutants in the air at the associated location.
- 2. A system according to claim 1, wherein one of the sensors of at least one of the monitoring means comprises a temperature sensor responsive to the ambient temperature at the location.
- 3. A system according to claim 1, wherein one of the sensors of at least one of the monitoring means comprises a temperature sensor responsive to the ambient temperature at the location.
- 4. A system according to claim 1, wherein said pollutant sensor comprises an opacity sensor for sensing the opacity of the air at the associated location.
- 5. A system according to claim 4 wherein one of the sensors of at least one of the monitoring means comprises a temperature sensor responsive to the ambient temperature at the associated location.
- 6. A system according to claim 1, wherein said pollutant sensor comprises a hydro-carbon analyzer responsive to hydro-carbon in the air at the associated location.
- 7. A system according to claim 6 wherein one of the sensors of at least one of the monitoring means comprises a temperature sensor responsive to the ambient temperature at the associated location.
- 8. An air conditioning system for conditioning the air at each of a plurality of locations, said system comprising monitoring means provided at each location for monitoring parameters of the environment at that location, each of said monitoring means comprising at least two sensors, each of said sensors being arranged to sense a different parameter of the environment at the associated location and to produce an output signal dependent upon the sensed parameter, and air delivery means provided at each location, each air delivery means being adapted to be connected to receive air from a common input air delivery device and being arranged to deliver air to its associated location, each of said air delivery means being responsive to the output signals of the monitoring means at that location, each of said air delivery means comprising means for varying the flow of air delivered in dependence upon the output signals from the associated sensors, said air delivery means further comprising a housing defining at least one air diffusion chamber therein, the housing having one wall facing said location, an inlet manifold connected for delivering air into said chamber in said housing, and a plurality of adjustable dampers mounted in an opening in said one wall whereby air can be delivered to said location through said opening and controlled by said dampers, and a heat exchanger mounted in said manifold and connected to a circuit for circulating a heat exchange medium therethrough, said circuit including means for adjusting the flow of the heat exchange medium in response to the associated monitoring means.
- 9. A system according to claim 8, wherein separate means are provided at each location to contain and extract air flow and wherein the means at each location for containing and extracting air flow comprises an extraction hood connected to an extraction pipe, and further comprising a common air output pipe connected to each extraction pipe, and a common output air handling unit connected to said air output pipe.
