DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new drain pan device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 5, the air conditioning unit drain 36 pan device 10 generally comprises a pan 12. The pan 12 has a peripheral surface 14 and a hidden surface 16. The pan 12 has a rectangular shape with a pair of lateral edges 18 and a pair of perpendicular edges 20. The pair of lateral edges 18 is positioned perpendicular relative to the pair of perpendicular edges 20. The pan 12 is configured for being positioned underneath a heating ventilation and air conditioning unit 22. The peripheral surface 14 faces the heating ventilation and air conditioning unit 22 and the hidden surface 16 faces the ground as shown in FIG. 4.

A pair of lateral walls 24 is positioned on a respective one of the pair of lateral edges 18 of the pan 12. The pair of lateral walls 24 protrudes outward relative to the peripheral surface 14 of the pan 12. Additionally, a pair of perpendicular walls 26 is positioned on a respective one of the pair of perpendicular edges 20. The pair of perpendicular walls 26 protrudes outward relative to the peripheral surface 14 of the pan 12. The pair of lateral walls 24 and the pair of perpendicular walls 26 are positioned perpendicular relative to the peripheral surface 14 of the pan 12. Furthermore, the pair of lateral walls 24 and the pair of perpendicular walls 26 defines a reservoir 28 of the pan 12 as shown in FIGS. 1 and 5. The reservoir 28 is configured for accumulating leaking water from the heating ventilation and air conditioning unit 22.

A plurality of mounts 30 is positioned on the pair of lateral walls 24 of the pan 12. Each of the mounts 30 is positioned on an exterior surface 32 of each of the lateral walls 24. In addition, each of the mounts 30 is positioned perpendicular relative to each of the lateral walls 24. Each of the mounts 30 has a hole 34 being configured for lodging a bolt within. The plurality of mounts 30 is configured for securing the pan 12 to the heating ventilation and air conditioning unit 22.

A drain 36 is positioned on a first lateral wall 38 of the pair of lateral walls 24. The drain 36 is a circular aperture that serves as an exit for the reservoir 28. The drain 36 is configured for expelling the leaking water accumulated within the reservoir 28 of the pan 12. Furthermore, the drain 36 is configured for coupling to a conduit for removal of the leaking water. The conduit prevents damage to the surrounding area of the heating ventilation and air conditioning unit 22.

An elevation 40 is positioned in a center 42 of the peripheral surface 14 of the pan 12 and protrudes out therefrom. The elevation 40 has a top surface 44 and a plurality of sides 46. Each of the sides 46 is positioned at an angle relative to the top surface 44 such that each of the sides 46 is configured for flowing the leaking water into the reservoir 28. The top surface 44 of the elevation 40 is configured for sealing a surface 48 of the heating ventilation and air conditioning unit 22 from leaking water. The elevation 40 helps secure the pan 12 in place from the surface of the heating ventilation and air conditioning unit 22 to the ground, as shown in FIG. 4.

In use, the pan 12 is positioned underneath the heating ventilation and air conditioning unit 22 with the drain 36 facing outward relative to the heating ventilation and air conditioning unit 22. The drain 36 can be coupled to a conduit to bring the accumulated water within the reservoir 28 of the pan 12 to a distal location.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
