The disclosure and prior art relate to air-cooling devices and more particularly pertains to a new air-cooling device for a boat.
An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a plurality of misting modules and a pump. Each misting module comprises a housing that defines an interior space. The housing has a back that is coupled to a sidewall of a boat. A plurality of slots is positioned in the housing and is configured for air to enter the interior space. A plurality of orifices is positioned in a front of the housing. A plurality of fans is coupled to the housing and positioned in the interior space. Each fan is positioned in an associated orifice. A plurality of nozzles is coupled to the front of the housing. The pump is operationally coupled to the nozzles and a source of water. The pump is positioned to pump water through the nozzles to form a mist. The fans are configured to disperse the mist to cool an area proximate to the housing.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
A plurality of slots 26 is positioned in the housing 16 and is configured for air to enter the interior space 18. The slots 26 are positioned in a top 28 and opposing sides 30 of the housing 16.
A plurality of orifices 32 is positioned in a front 34 of the housing 16. A plurality of fans 36 is coupled to the housing 16 and positioned in the interior space 18. Each fan 36 is positioned in an associated orifice 32. The plurality of fans 36 comprises three fans 36. Each fan 36 comprises a motor 38 and a plurality of blades 40. The motor 38 is positioned to rotate the blades 40 to motivate the air from the interior space 18 through the associated orifice 32.
A plurality of nozzles 42 is coupled to the front 34 of the housing 16. The plurality of nozzles 42 comprises four nozzles 42 that are substantially evenly spaced between the opposing sides 30 of the housing 16 proximate to the top 28 of the housing 16.
The pump 14 is operationally coupled to the nozzles 42 and a source of water. The pump 14 is positioned to pump water through the nozzles 42 to form a mist. The fans 36 are configured to disperse the mist to cool an area proximate to the housing 16.
A water reservoir 44 is positioned in the boat 24. The water reservoir 44 is coupled to each of the misting modules 12 and the pump 14 so that the water reservoir 44 is in fluidic communication with the misting modules 12 and the pump 14. The pump 14 is positioned to pump water from the water reservoir 44 through the nozzles 42 to form the mist. The fans 36 are configured to disperse the mist to cool the area proximate to the housing 16.
Each of a plurality of tubes 46 is coupled to and extends between the pump 14 and a respective misting module 12 so that the respective misting module 12 is fluidically coupled to the water reservoir 44 through the pump 14.
A switch 48 is coupled to a surface 50 of the boat 24. The switch 48 is operationally coupled to an electrical circuit 56 of the boat 24, the pump 14 and the plurality of misting modules 12. The switch 48 is positioned to selectively couple the pump 14 and the misting modules 12 to the electrical circuit 50 to power the pump 14 and the misting modules 12.
Each of a plurality of first cables 52 is coupled to and extends between the switch 48 and a respective misting module 12 so that the respective misting module 12 is electrically coupled to the switch 48. A second cable 54 is coupled to and extends between the switch 48 and the pump 14 so that the pump 14 is electrically coupled to the switch 48.
In use, a user flips the switch 48 to actuate the pump 14 and the misting modules 12. The pump 14 pumps the water from the water reservoir 44 through the nozzles 42 to form the mist. The fans 36 disperse the mist to cool the area proximate to the housing 16, thereby cooling the user.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
