Claims
- 1. An alkali silicate glass, which comprises the following components:ComponentWt. %SiO255.0 to 71.0Al2O3 5.0 to 16.0B2O3 0.2 to 10.0K2O 4.5 to 10.0Na2O 3.0 to 14.0TiO2 + ZrO2 0.2 to 5.0.
- 2. A glass according to claim 1, which additionally comprises at least one of the following components:ComponentWt. %CaO0 to 3.0F0 to 3.0P2O50 to 0.6Li2O0 to 4.0BaO0 to 5.0ZnO0 to 4.0CeO20 to 2.0.
- 3. A glass according to claim 1, wherein quantities of some components, independently of one another, are as follows:ComponentWt. %SiO260.0to65.0Al2O36.0to10.0B2O30.5to 8.1K2O5.5to 9.0Na2O3.5to10.0;and further comprises the following components:CaO0.5 to 3.0F0.2 to 2.0.
- 4. A glass according to claim 1, wherein the quantities of some components, independently of one another, are as follows:ComponentWt. %SiO261.0to64.0Al2O37.0to 9.0B2O30.5to 4.0Na2O7.0to 9.0;and further comprises the following components:CaO0.5to1.5F1.0to2.0Li2O0to3.0BaO1.5to3.5ZnO2.0to3.5.
- 5. A glass according to claim 1, which does not crystallise during a heat treatment at temperatures from 600° C. to 1000° C. for one minute to 2 hours.
- 6. A glass according to claim 1, which has a sintering temperature of 650° C. to 1150° C.
- 7. A dental material, which comprises the glass according to claim 1.
- 8. A dental material according to claim 7, which has a linear thermal expansion coefficient of 5.5 to 12.5×10−6K−1, measured in the temperature range of from 100 to 400° C.
- 9. A shaped dental product, which comprises the alkali silicate glass according to claim 1.
- 10. A shaped dental product according to claim 9, which is a dental restoration.
- 11. A shaped dental product according to claim 9, which comprises a core comprising a ceramic or glass ceramic material and a coating applied to the core, wherein the coating comprises the alkali silicate glass.
- 12. A method of coating a substrate comprising:providing a substrate and coating the substrate with the dental material of claim 7.
- 13. A method according to claim 12, wherein the substrate is comprised of a ceramic or a glass ceramic.
- 14. A method according to claim 12, further comprising:sintering the coated substrate at temperatures of 650° C. to 1050° C.
