Claims
- 1. A process for treating depression in a living animal body which comprises administering to said animal body for its antidepressant effect an effective amount of a compound selected from phenyl-.omega.-haloalkenylamines and phenyl-.omega.-haloalkanylamines having the formula: ##STR5## wherein, Am is selected from lower-alkylamino and di-lower-alkylamino,
- A is selected from methylene and methylidyne,
- R is selected from hydrogen, lower-alkyl, lower-alkoxy, halogen and trifluoromethyl,
- m is zero or one,
- n is one or two,
- X is halogen, and
- a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof.
- 2. A process of claim 12 which is 6-chloro-N,N-dimethyl-3-phenyl-3-hexenylamine.
- 3. A process of claim 1 which is 6-bromo-N,N-dimethyl-3-phenyl-2-hexenylamine.
- 4. A process of claim 1 which is 6-bromo-N,N-dimethyl-3-phenyl-3-hexenylamine.
- 5. A process of claim 1 which is 7-chloro-N,N-dimethyl-4-phenyl-4-heptenylamine.
- 6. A process of claim 1 which is 7-chloro-N,N-dimethyl-4-phenyl-3-heptenylamine.
- 7. A process of claim 1 which is 6-chloro-N,N-dimethyl-3-(4-methoxyphenyl)-3-hexenylamine.
- 8. A process of claim 1 which is 6-chloro-N,N-dimethyl-3-(3-trifluoromethylphenyl)-3-hexenylamine.
- 9. A process of claim 1 which is 6-chloro-N,N-dimethyl-3-phenylhexylamine.
