Claims
- 1. A compound of formula
- in which m is an integer from 0 to 2 n is an integer from 2 to 5 X represents hydroxy and Y is hydrogen, Z represents the radical cis--CH.sub.2 --CH.dbd.CH--,R.sup.1 is hydrogen or lower alkyl and R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 each are hydrogen or lower alkyl with the provisos that at least one of R.sup.2, R.sup.3 or R.sup.4 is lower alkyl

- 4. Methyl trans, cis-7-[2-hydroxy-5-(3-hydroxy-3-methyl-1-octenyl)cyclopentyl]-4-heptenoate
- 5. A racemic mixture of methyl trans, cis-7-[2.alpha.-hydroxy-5-(3-hydroxy-3-methyl-1-octenyl)cyclopentyl]-4-heptenoate which has a characterisitic peak in its nuclear magnetic spectrum
- 6. A racemic mixture of methyl trans, cis-7-[2.beta.-hydroxy-5-(3-hydroxy-3-methyl-1-octenyl)cyclopentyl]-4-heptenoate which has a characteristic peak in its nuclear magnetic spectrum at
- 7. A racemic mixture of trans, cis-7-[2.alpha.-hydroxy-5-(3-hydroxy-3-methyl-1-octenyl]-4-heptenoic acid which has a characteristic peak in its nuclear resonance spectrum at 4.28
- 8. A racemic mixture of trans, cis-7[2.alpha.-hydroxy-5-(3-hydroxy-3-methyl-1-octenyl)cyclopentyl]-4-heptenoic acid which has a characteristic peak in its nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum at 3.98 .delta. (CDCl.sub.3), as claimed in claim 3.
- 9. A pharmaceutically acceptable salt of the compound of claim 1 in which
- 10. A pharmaceutical composition comprising:
- a. A compound of formula ##STR12## in which m is an integer from 0 to 2, n is an integer from 2 to 5, X represents hydroxy and Y is hydrogen, Z represents the radical cis--CH.sub.2 --CH.dbd.CH--, R.sup.1 is hydrogen or lower alkyl and R.sup.2, R.sup.3 or R.sup.4 is lower alkyl and at least one of R.sup.2, R.sup.3 or R.sup.4 is hydrogen, and
- b. a pharmacologically acceptable carrier.
