Claims
- 1. A system of aluminum profiles for the installation of doors, windows and dividing walls, characterized by
a longitudinal “H”-shaped base, that is fixed to the door and window fenestrations or the sides of dividing walls; a cover having a longitudinal shape, fixed separably to the base and covering the base as well as the fenestrations and sides; a series of variously-shaped connectors made of flexible plastic that allow for the base and the cover to be joined at the longitudinal ends and for the system to change direction, the crossing of the system or the finish of the ends; and accessories that allow for doors, windows and glass to be fixed to the cover.
- 2. The system according to claim 1, also characterized by the fact that the aforementioned “H” also has a depression in the shape of a rectangular canal at the center of its horizontal bar, which give it the rigidity and mechanical resistance to take the mechanical efforts caused by its normal use, as well as allow for certain deformities to permit the coupling with the cover of the system, and provides an area where screws will be driven to fix said base to the construction where it will be placed.
- 3. The system according to claim 2, also characterized by the fact that the aforementioned “H” is hook-shaped at the top end of its vertical bars and outwards, for coupling with the cover.
- 4. The system according to claim 3, also characterized by the fact that said cover has five transversal areas on its top part, from the center outwards:
(1) a completely horizontal central area, (2) the same number of lateral steps that descend at right angles along its entire length, (3) horizontal lateral areas, (4) lateral areas in downwards slope, (5) ends projected in vertical descent, forming the legs of the cover, and on its lower part, and (6) a 90° fold towards the center of the cover, forming a short, horizontal projection.
- 5. The system according to claim 4, also characterized by the fact that, directly on the lower ends of the steps, the cover has the same number of horizontal projections, projected towards the center of the cover, and a certain distance away from this union, on the underside of said horizontal projections, the top has vertical projections projected downwards; the inner lower end of these vertical projections is shaped in a way that it can hook up separably with the corresponding superior ends of the base of the system.
- 6. The system according to claim 5, also characterized by the fact that said connectors are made up of a main body and three separate central projections, the central projection being wider that the lateral projections in each of the ends where it will join the longitudinal ends of the base and the cover; the main body is shaped according to the function it will perform: crest, L-shaped to change direction on a horizontal plane; T to join three segments; cross to join four segments; and cornerpiece to change direction on a vertical plane.
- 7. The system according to claim 6, also characterized by the fact that the shape of the upper part of the projections generally correspond to the shape of the cover; in the separations between the projections, the vertical bars of the base and the vertical projections of the cover are lodged.
- 8. The system according to claim 7, also characterized by the fact that the shape of the lower side of the projections of said connectors allow for it to be lodged in the rectangular transversal canal section of the base.
- 9. A system for finishing walls including doorways and window frames, said system comprising:
at least one base having a “H’ cross-section, at least one cover having
a central member, a leg extending out from said central member, said legs running the length of said central member, and a bracket formed along a bottom surface of said central member, said bracket running the length of said central member, said bracket attachable to one of said at least one base, and at least one connector capable of engaging at least one of said at least one base and at least one of said at least one cover, said connector including a central body, said connector includes at least one set of projections extending from said central body, said at least one set of projections having
at least two lateral projections, and a central projection having a passageway passing therethrough, and wherein said projections are spaced from each other.
- 10. The system according to claim 9, wherein said connector is selected from a group consisting of an interior cornerpiece, an outer cornerpiece, a stop, a section union, a T-connector, a L-connector, and a cross connector.
- 11. The system according to claim 9, further comprising at least one panel formed to abut said cover.
- 12. The system according to claim 9, further comprising
at least one window sash, and at least one base window sash; and wherein said window sash and said base window sash are formed to secure a window within a window frame and abut said cover.
- 13. The system according to claim 9, wherein each of said legs includes
at least one step attached to said horizontal central segment, a horizontal lateral member extending from said at least one step, a sloped lateral member extending out from said horizontal lateral member, and a member extending down from said sloped lateral member.
- 14. The system according to claim 13, wherein each of said legs further includes a projection extending from the free end of said member.
- 15. The system according to claim 9, wherein said bracket includes
a pair of opposing horizontal projections extending in from one of said legs, and a vertical projection extending down from each of said horizontal projections, each of said vertical projection including a groove running in the longitudinal direction of said vertical projection.
- 16. The system according to claim 9, wherein said base includes
a crossbeam having a central channel with a plurality of holes passing therethrough running the length of the central channel, and a pair of legs, each of said legs are on opposite ends of said crossbeam, each of said legs includes a channel running in the longitudinal direction of said leg.
- 17. The system according to claim 9, wherein
said base includes
a crossbeam having a central channel with a plurality of holes passing therethrough running the length of the central channel, and a pair of legs, each of said legs are on opposite ends of said crossbeam, each of said legs includes a channel running in the longitudinal direction of said leg, said base of said cover includes
a crossbeam having a central channel with a plurality of holes passing therethrough running the length of the central channel, and a pair of legs, each of said legs are on opposite ends of said crossbeam, each of said legs includes a channel running in the longitudinal direction of said leg, said bracket of said cover includes
a pair of opposing horizontal projections extending in from one of said legs, and a vertical projection extending down from each of said horizontal projections, each of said vertical projection including a groove running in the longitudinal direction of said vertical projection, each of said groove formed to be engageable with a respective one of said grooves in said legs of said base, each of said legs includes
at least one step attached to said horizontal central segment, a horizontal lateral member extending from said at least one step, a sloped lateral member extending out from said horizontal lateral member, and a member extending down from said sloped lateral member.
- 18. The system according to claim 17, wherein said at least one connector includes
at least one cornerpiece having two sets of projections, each set extending from an adjacent sides of said central body to each other, at least one stop having at least one set of projections extending from one side of said central body, at least one section union having two sets of projections, each set extending from opposing sides of said central body to each other, at least one T joint connector having three sets of projections, said sets extending from said central body to form a T shape.
- 19. The system according to claim 17, further comprising at least one sash having
a horizontal member, and a vertical member connected to said horizontal member, said vertical member having a channel formed on the surface on which said horizontal member is connected to said vertical member.
- 20. The system according to claim 19, wherein at least one of said at least one sash further having a fold extending from a free end of said horizontal member, said fold is on the same side of said horizontal member that said channel is formed on said vertical member.
- 21. The system according to claim 17, further comprising at least one sash having
a horizontal member, and a vertical member connected to said horizontal member, said vertical member having a channel formed on the surface opposing the surface on which said horizontal member is connected to said vertical member, a second vertical member connected to said horizontal member, and wherein said horizontal member, said vertical member, and said second vertical member form a channel.
- 22. A method for installing the system in a building according to claim 18, said method comprising:
determining the lengths of cover and base pieces needed, cutting said cover and said base into appropriate lengths, determining which type of connectors will be needed to connect the cover and base pieces during the installation, attaching said base pieces to the building structure with screws making sure that said base pieces are level, attaching the selected connectors to the respective base pieces, attaching cover pieces to base pieces and connectors by snapping cover pieces over the base pieces and connectors such that said legs of said base pieces pass through spaces between projections of said connectors to snap together with said brackets of said cover pieces.
- 23. The method according to claim 22, further comprising applying a finish to exterior surfaces of said cover pieces and said connectors that will be installed.
- 24. A connector for use in a system having segments of a base piece attached to a cover piece, the system for providing a finished look in building construction for partial walls, walls, door frames, and windows frames, said connector comprising:
a central body having a plurality of surfaces including a surface that forms a continuous shape with the cover after installation, and at least one set of projections extending from another surface of said central body, said projection set including
a central projections having a passageway therethrough to facilitate affixing the connector to a base and a wall of the building, and a pair of lateral projections on either side of said central projection and spaced from said central projection, wherein the space between said projections allows for connection of a cover to a base, and said projections formed to fit between the cover and the base after installation.
- 25. The connector according to claim 24, further comprising a second set of projections extending from another surface of said central body such that after installation the attached segments are perpendicular to each other.
- 26. The connector according to claim 24, further comprising a second set of projections extending from another surface of said central body such that after installation the attached segments and the connector form a continuous shape between the free ends of the segments.
