Claims
- 1. An amusement ride comprising:a track, including a first track portion and a second track portion extending from the first track portion; a passenger car for traveling along a course on the track, including a first car for traveling on said first track and a second car resting on the first car, wherein the first car includes a locking mechanism for locking the first car to the second car and a releasing mechanism for releasing the first car from the second car; and a halting mechanism interposed between the first and second tracks for halting the movement of said first car, and releasing the locking mechanism to allow the second car to move forward on the second track portion.
- 2. An amusement ride as defined in claim 1 further comprising one or more shock damping mechanisms to damp the shock of the first car coming into contact with the halting mechanism, and disposed on the first car, the halting mechanism or both.
