The present disclosure relates, in general, to physical exercises. Particularly, but not exclusively, the present disclosure relates to a multi-purpose, wearable and portable exercising device for workout.
Considering the existing scenario of working out with rubber bands or resistance bands, some exercises such as chest press can be done relatively easily by positioning a rubber band around a user's back, without having to attach the rubber bands to any other anchor. The same is also true for triceps extensions, where a rubber band can be placed around the user's neck and the arms could be pushed forward to extend the triceps. There are also some devices that attach a resistance band to a person's torso and the end of the limbs, and the user can do exercises while pushing your limbs using the resistance band away from the body. However, for exercises that use pulling motion, or pulling angles, especially pulling hands or limbs towards the body via pulling angles such as pull ups, pull downs, flies, pull overs and row exercises, this is not possible as the rubber or resistance bands, have to be tied to some form of an anchor like a tree or a pull up bar, which does not allow a user to train these muscle groups if such a device or anchor is unavailable and forces the user to have to be stationary while performing such exercises. Also, because of this limitation, the user will not be able to train such muscles while walking, running or performing other activities and to remain unanchored or mobile.
Additionally, the existing exercising tools do not provide a wider range for the user when doing exercises like chest press, since the rubber or resistance bands needs to be attached to a stationary device or anchor or other similar device in the back of a user's body, a few inches to a few feet behind them in order for the user to get different and better exercise angles and to get a better and more complete set of exercises and the same is true for a number of other exercises where the grip and positioning of the hands, arms, legs or feet and the grip or attachment to the limbs can be in a wider or a narrower or a lower or higher or more to the back or more to the front or more out on both sides or more towards the center of the body positions and locations, such as a saw exercise of pushing the hand across the chest to the other side, with a resistance band attached to an anchor on the side of the person's body. These limitations hamper the user's ability to perform a wide range of exercises, or more diverse and a fuller range of exercise and do not provide a convenient or pleasant experience to the user allowing them to remain mobile, being able to move around or walk, without having to be attached to an anchor, while doing their exercises.
Therefore, it would be advantageous to have a portable, and/or wearable exercising device, which addresses some of the limitations of the existing or conventional exercising tools and allows relatively free movements without being attached to an external or a stationary anchor.
The information disclosed in this background of the disclosure section is only for enhancement of understanding of the general background of the invention and should not be taken as an acknowledgement or any form of suggestion that this information forms the prior art already known to a user skilled in the art.
Disclosed herein is a wearable and/or a non-wearable and/or a portable and/or a non-portable workout or exercising device that can be carried, worn, or converted for use in various spaces such as a user's home, office, in the vehicle, outdoors, indoors or at the gym. The proposed workout device makes it easier and convenient for the user to do various exercises in a new, better, and more efficient and effective ways while remaining mobile and unattached to stationary anchors.
The proposed device may be used to train for pull-ups or pull-downs, pull overs, shrugs, and other exercises like rowing or pull-backs, a back and forward and reverse flies trainer, shoulder press and numerous other exercises and variations or exercises and exercises with different, new and better angles and user limb positioning, allowing the user to target various muscles and muscle groups in new and or better ways and or while remaining mobile without being attached to an external or a stationary anchor. The proposed device helps perform the above exercises and other similar training activities while the user is walking, sitting, standing, running or lying down, without having to attach to any type of an anchor outside of the cage device or harness or backpack or other similar device connected to or wearable around the user's body. Also, the proposed portable device can be attached to a stand or any other rigid thing or could be placed on a bed, a floor, or other appropriate surfaces to make it usable for other exercises. That is, the proposed device can be converted to be used as a workout system in bed, on a couch or on the floor, or a chair etc., while the user is lying or sitting on a bed, a chair, or a couch or while standing, but it can also be used while held or worn by the user. While there are other stationary devices, this would be unique in having the capacity in both serving as a wearable, portable and to double as a stationary device at the same time.
In an embodiment, the proposed device aims to solve the issues and limitations of the existing exercising devices and allows users to workout with rubber or resistance bands, straps, springs or similar tension creation devices, materials or extensions, and to attach it a few inches to a number of feet or a couple of meters in front, from behind, below, above or on the sides of the user's body or center of the users body and to perform various exercises, which are not possible and/or easy to perform with traditional exercising devices or to allow the user to perform these exercises or better variations, at better angles, while isolating or targeting specific muscles or muscle groups and doing or performing these exercises while remaining mobile. Also, the user can perform the exercise while standing without any anchors nearby, or can even do the exercises while sitting, lying down, walking, running, or doing any other similar activity and being located virtually anywhere without a need for a pull up bar, stationary exercise equipment, anchors such as a tree branch or other similar stationary machines or anchors.

The following description is, therefore, not to be taken in a limiting sense.
In an embodiment, the proposed device can be similar to a backpack or similar to an exo-frame of a backpack or pieces of hard material that fit over the user's shoulders and are either freestanding or hanging over shoulders and or chest and or back or tied down with a strap or multiple straps to the body of the user, and attach around either the chest and stomach area or back area or both and/or any other ways to attach to the user's body. The device is designed to rise about 1 to 6 feet above the shoulder level and to extend the removable and/or height-adjustable bars going straight up, and or diagonally up and forward and or up and back at narrower than body or wider than body angles and to also have the capacity to be moved or extended into other directions in front of the user's body, to the sides, or in the back of the body or below the waist or chest or head of the body or to be detachable and re-attachable in other directions to allow for exercises in different direction from the users body.
In an embodiment, the device can also be reversed on the body for the arms/sticks to extend either forward and up or back and up or down or to either or to both of the sides or in multiple directions at once to allow for different exercises mostly pulling actions towards the body and various angles of exercises such as pull downs. As shown in
In an embodiment, the device can be attached from the front to allow for a back row like exercise of pulling the resistance bands towards the front of the body as shown in
In an embodiment, the device also comprises arms that attach to this device or that are permanently attached to this device and can adjust and be moved out of the way and folded against the wearable apparatus and can extend forward in front of the body to allow for a row-like movement of extending the user's arms straight out in front of the user, straight or slightly to the sides or slightly up and down in a wide or narrow or cross hand position and higher lower positions of the arms to allow for full row-like exercises in different directions or partial row-like exercises, bringing these rubber band or resistance band like materials back to the user's body from out in front of the user, thereby enabling the user to exercise back, while walking, sitting, lying down, running or standing.
In an embodiment, as shown in
In an embodiment, the device and its pieces could be made of various material including, without limiting to, plastic, aluminum, titanium, ceramic, rubber, wood, foam, leather, carbon fiber or some other material or other natural or synthetic or simple or composite materials that can be shaped and worn on the body and attached to the body with straps or held down by gravity or to flex around the shoulders, back, chest and other parts of the body. The device can be attached and held to the body by belts or straps that are similar to a weightlifter's belt or by straps that go over shoulders and chest and stomach on a large heavy backpack used by hunters to carry heavy loads or similar devices or used by soldiers or rescue workers to carry another person to allow for heavier weight. The arms could be attached to it or extend from it permanently in a form of free standing arms or in some rectangular box shape or honeycomb or other such shape to make them more stable and stronger for heavier resistance or strength of resistance band or rubber band materials used and to still keep them lighter weight and stronger, thereby preventing them from breaking or snapping due to the weight or the strength of the pull of the rubber bands or the user pulling on these rubber bands.
In an embodiment, the device would have various hooks, holes and grooves to allow the rubber bands or resistance band like materials to connect to them and to allow for the belts to tie this down to the user's body and to prevent the device from moving on the user's body, although it is possible to achieve that this device or cage will be held on the user's body without requiring belts simply via a snug fit or flexing material that presses and holds against the back and chest over the two shoulders. The device could have cross bars that connect the two sides together across the stomach and or chest area and across the back area and bars that connect these two sides above and forward or above and back of the user's body, directly above the user's body, in front of the user's body or in the back of the user's body to create extensions away from the user's body. The device would also allow for arms or cages to extend out in front of the user, going down about a foot or a few feet almost to the ground level under the torso to allow the user to do shoulder shrugs as he/she is walking, standing or sitting or lying down or other similar exercises, where they are bringing their arms up.
In an embodiment, the cage or arms can also extend from the device to the sides allowing the user to do either chest flies or back flies swinging their arms forward or back and having the rubber band or resistance band materials tied to the arms and stretched forward or back as the arms move. This could also do bench press like movement if connected to arms or cage in the back of the user, behind their back and when their arms are pushed forward. In other words, the device is designed to be used in a 360-degree position allowing the user to either carry a full 360-degree cage on his/her body snuggly attached to their body and kept in place by the cage itself or by various types of belts and straps or other means, or to attach and remove different arms and different cages on the front of the body, above the body, below the torso, or on the sides of the body. This allows the user to do different exercises and training pulling and pushing the resistance band or rubber bands and similar materials up, down, forward back, away from the body to the sides or into the body from the sides, or in any other direction that the bands and these arms and cages will allow.
In an embodiment, the device also allows to do exercises such as shoulder press and bicep curls and numerous other exercises, and the user can do them better as there could be numerous adjustable holes or grooves or similar methods to attach or to hold the rubber bands in place at different locations to create better resistance, further distance or a better or a different angle for pulling or pushing or moving the resistance bands. This arrangement creates a mobile anchor that the user can wear on the body. This can also be thought of and worn as a harness around a body either being partly soft and partly hard or entirely soft or entirely hard. The materials would be both strong and light to allow it to be worn with ease and comfort and to be light while still being strong enough not to break.
In an embodiment, the user could either have a hard cage or can adjust the cages or the arms of the device and point them and lock them into different direction. The various arms or cages that extend in all direction could also be telescopic and could be extend or retract by the user or the user wearing them and could be locked in different position to create more distance or to make them more compact. Further, the user could also wear a belt that protects the spine. The device might be removable from the user's body and also can serve as a device to be placed on the ground to do other exercises such as dips, push-ups etc., off of the device. The device can be separated into smaller pieces that lock in place when attached with one piece fitting into the other like a piston into a chamber and can be taken apart for easy storage or carrying. In an embodiment, there could be extensions that extend the device making it longer going up or down or that extend the cages or arms into each of the different directions. The device can be used to do various exercises including, without limiting to, pull-ups, pull-downs, cable row, rubber band row, torso twist, back and forward flies, ‘Y’ flies, triceps kickback, triceps straight arm lift, cross body lunge extension and numerous other exercises.
In an embodiment, the device may be provided with both a hard cage and a backpack like structure held with belts have their uses for different exercises and for pulling and pushing the bands in different direction towards, away or parallel to the body. Further, the device allows user to extend a bar, a cage, a circle or any other combination of shapes to which the user can attach resistance band type of things or materials in various places. These shapes can also be arches, straight bars or curved shapes in various ways. The user can attach rubber or resistance bands to them, temporarily or permanently, and then use the rubber bands or resistance bands to do various types of exercises, which cannot be performed using the existing/conventional devices, without attaching these resistance bands to an anchor that does not move. The technical benefit of the above design is that now as these devices are attached to a device being worn on the user body, they are mobile, and the user can do row or pull up or pull-down exercises and other types of exercises without needing a stationary anchor.
In an embodiment, the device extensions, including the one worn on the users' body could be taken off body and then converted into a stationary device that could be attached to the bed or other furniture or onto a vehicle, in and on the vehicle like a car, bicycle, moped or motorcycle or to a piece of workout equipment such as a treadmill or an elliptical machine. This allows the user to do various types of exercises without having to wear the device but can easily take it off and to turn it into a stationary anchor connected to one of these other pieces of equipment, pieces of furniture, a vehicle, or other things. The device and the associated set of extensions or attachments, and the various ways they can be assembled or attached to other things, can be configured and assembled in different ways, to allow for multiple exercise to be done at the same time, thereby giving the user a flexibility to change a routine, save time, or do multiple exercises at the same time, which would have been very difficult or impossible to do without such a device, assembly or combination of configurations. The uniqueness of such a device is that it can serve both as a mobile apparatus and can be converted or attached into a non-mobile device, allowing for exercises which were not possible with a mobile or an unanchored device in the conventionally known devices.
In an embodiment, the device can come in a variation of being made of a soft material or made of a hard material and can be a standalone device that a user wear, or can be turned into a standalone stationary device, and can also be a backpack or an attachment to a backpack, a vehicle, furniture, exercise equipment and other things. It may be designed as a one-piece equipment inclusive of all the items, or as separate items or parts that can be configured into numerous different configurations from something that allows only one exercise to be performed to something that allows performing multiple exercises. Some parts that a device is made up of are arm sockets, which allow the user to add arms to it to extend in into any direction. These arm sockets can also be arm extenders that already have arms attached to them, or already have arms, and these arms can be stationary or can be directed or swiveled and locked into any direction to allow a user to do exercises from or towards that direction or against that direction or towards different angles and directions allowing different exercises. These arms can be telescopic and can retract into the arm sockets. other arms and other parts can connect to the arm sockets and to the arms by screwing them in or around the other part or by locking them in place via locks, a stick like object that fits into holes and other means.
In an embodiment, the arms and other parts can be arranged into circles, bars, cages, and they can have groves, holes and other ways of connecting resistance bands and rubber bands made of various materials to these parts to keep the resistance bands in place and to allow the user to reach them and to use them pulling them or pushing the resistance bands in various directions at various angles. These devices and their parts can form these bars, cages, circles, arches and other shapes above the head, at body level or below body level of the user allowing them to pull the resistance bands in the downward, up, towards the body or away from the body and into any other direction and angle based on the exercise they are doing allowing them to work out muscles they could not exercise without such a device, thereby making it easier to do certain exercises than it would have been without such a device.
In an embodiment, a hard, shell-like piece could fit over each shoulder as if it is a harness or yokes that each go over each shoulder, and can be at shoulder, below or above shoulder level and the arms coming out of it would create a solid frame to give the ability to pull the bands attached to the attachments attached to the device, directly or via numerous other attachments. The connections between the hard-shell devices over each shoulder could be soft or hard or a combination or both soft and hard attachments. Some of them be elastic to give more comfort and can be made from various types of materials that are stretchy or not stretchy based on function. The hard connectors would give them more stability, while soft would be more comfortable to wear.
In an embodiment, there could be a variation that feels like a traditional backpack and such an exoskeleton of a backpack, with various parts coming off in any and all directions to allow for various different exercises and exercise combinations. There will also be a kit that can be attached to backpacks manufactured by other manufacturers to turn those backpacks to do something similar in terms of exercising with rubber bands. There will also be a soft set of straps that can go over the shoulders or the neck or can be attached to other parts of the body via straps or belts and that can allow for a hard shell to be attached to these straps that go up around and above the user's body allowing them to connect resistance bands to such a device and its parts and to have other parts and attachments attached to it and to be able to do different exercises like pull ups and dips and pull downs and back row, and fly, chest flies or back flies, push up like exercises and other exercises with resistance bands.
In an embodiment, the various shapes that are formed could be jointly locked in one place or could be swiveled into different directions to easily allow the user to perform different exercises or to change the direction, type angle or intensity of each exercise, by shifting the position or the location and locking these arms, swivels and shapes into different locations and directions. There would be different types of straps and belts that would lock it to various parts of the body, under the underarms, around the waist or chest or head and to various other parts of the body. There would be a belt available that can protect the spine, and precautions would be built-in into the device to make it safer to use, especially in certain conditions while walking, driving, or using other exercise sports equipment like an elliptical machine or a treadmill. Further, there could be options with padding and without padding in parts where the device connects to the chest, shoulders, back arms, neck, head etc. The padding would make it more comfortable to wear and can be removable and washable or made of a material which is soft but just needs to be wiped to be cleaned and does not need to be removed.
In an embodiment, the device might be touching the shoulders or might just lock itself by touching the chest and back and be significantly above the shoulders and can have numerous other configurations and press against the body and the head. In other locations the hard-shell device could also be stretchable and can snap back or contract back in place to lock closer to the chest and back or other parts of the body to create some extra tension making it fit and stay in place. The device could end up being a little bit to more than 5 feet above, in front of, behind, below, or in any other direction away from the body of the user wearing the device. Also, it can be extended further with additional attachments. There would be a few connectors that can be held down easier by straps or a belt to connect it more snuggly to a user's body.
In an embodiment, these various devices and attachments should be made from a hard and light material to make them easy to carry on the body, but there might be devices that are made especially heavy to provide another type of exercise for the body, to carry extra weight on it or could allow to add extra weight to it. These also could be rigid or flexible. these additions and kits could be connected and attached via clamps and other means and the whole device could be designed in one piece, and the attachments could be fully separated or could be already pre-assembled into certain larger combinations making it easier and faster for the user to assemble, take apart or use the device. The device also allows the user to change the type of muscles and how they work out those muscles for allowing for different grips, narrow, regular or wide, extremely wide, etc., and to allow for different directions or angles of arms, for example, in front of body straight above or straight below body or behind body or close to the body a bit away from the body or far from the body, right on the sides touching or almost touching the body and moving hands further and further from the body. Some attachments like the cages or rings allow the user to do many different such changes with the hands or feet without having to change attachments too often, this also allows the user to work out feet, legs and head and to do core, back, lower back, or stomach exercises by moving the body in certain angles or directions. The device can be taken apart into smaller parts and assembled via smaller parts via various ways, including ‘T’ pipe like parts, arches, numerous direction, and corner pieces etc. A few variations allow for various arches, spheres and hoops that can be connected to each other to form stronger bonds and structures to make them available in lighter less materials versions while still maintaining strong bonds and structures for heavier weight exercises, like the way the hoops of the Atlas statue with a world made out of metal loops on his shoulders are interconnected.
In an embodiment, the spheres, arches, loops, and hoops could be collapsed or folded onto each other to allow for easy storage. One variation would be of three hoops one at below waist or chest or head or around calf level, another around chest area and one above head and they can each be used for pulling resistance band towards you and up towards you in a straight fashion and towards you and down from above fashion. Each circle or hoop can also collapse and be put together from smaller parts. One variation could be a shoulder only model or a chest only model, where it only stands on one shoulder or on some other part of the body like the head, chest, back, stomach, leg arm etc. and could be smaller and lighter while probably allowing for fewer exercises but still offering options. Here, the telescopic arms or non-telescopic arms could be swiveled or could be extended into all directions. The device could be repositioned on the floor, or onto a bed or onto attachments that are held down by a mattress, by a chair, by a sofa, by a piece of exercise equipment such as a treadmill or by other pieces of furniture and then it can be turned into an on-the-floor or on-the-bed variation or into a standalone device and can be used to do various other exercises like pull ups and back row, flies and other exercise. It can also be held down by the body while doing these other exercises. This design makes the product unique because it allows a wearable device to be also used as a stationary device and for other similar uses, which requires the user to buy only one device without having to buy both a wearable or portable device and a stationary device.
In an embodiment, the device can be both mobile and or wearable and used as a mobile, wearable pull down, pull over and other exercise trainer, which could not be done without an anchor before, but also can be taken off and attached to various stands that are held down by furniture, mattresses and the like or that attach to vehicles sports equipment and furniture are described. There could be a stand for working out in band and the device can be turned into one or attached to one to allow for more exercises in various positions. The bottom and top of the units can be removed so that the device could easily be attached or fit into stand attachments to make it a standalone, non-portable device anchored to furniture, a mattress and other things and vehicles. The device can also be reversed on the body so that the user could easily use it for opposite exercises. For example, if it was an exercise on the chest for back row exercises, then the user could reverse it and put it with the bar or cage of the device behind the user and the user can do push up or chest press like exercises etc. There could be a small bag that is attached to the device that could store all the parts as well as a large proper backpack that could be attached to it as well, thus an exercise device could be without a bag, could have a small bag attached to it inside which the user could hold all the parts and a large backpack while folded. The large backpack can be taken out unfolded and attached to the device, thereby allowing the user to turn it into a backpack that could carry other things if needed. For example, the user could walk to the grocery store with it as a workout equipment on the user's body and workout the entire direction to the store, and then when getting into the store, the user could take out the backpack bag, attach it and turn it into a backpack and then fill it up with the groceries and use it both as a backpack and a workout station while walking back to home, or could use it as just a backpack, if the user is tired.
In an embodiment, a cage, a bar, a box or a circle could be positioned somewhere between the waist or chest or head and feet and attached to the device and body for shrugs and other exercises, pulling the resistance bands in the upwards direction both straight up or up and towards one of the other directions. The device is provided with numerous grooves or other holes, or ways to connect the resistance bands to the bars and to keep them in place, keep them from falling off or to keep them from sliding off, while the user is not holding them. While the user is holding them, there would be belts at different locations to keep the device connected tightly to the body for comfort, to keep it from falling off or to keep it from moving from one place to another and to keep it more stable. The bars or cages could be far enough from the body to allow for a full range of motion or could be only a partial distance from the body to allow for smaller and easier to carry devices, while still allowing for partial exercises.
In an embodiment, the extensions are not too far from the user's body and in that example, if the bar is only away enough to do quarter pull ups or half pull ups that still will allow for a good exercise while the user is working out and training some of their muscles in preparation of much larger and full range exercises.
In an embodiment, the device could work well for the military, police, firemen, emergency response personnel and can be offered as an attachment to military backpacks and as a full military backpack or other devices worn by the user and allowing soldiers, law enforcement, emergency personnel, rescue personnel, fireman etc., to use this both as a backpack and as a training device with some special features specifically dedicated to the military and law enforcement and rescue personnel etc. Further, the user could lie down in a bed or on a floor or other surfaces and put this device over the body and use it as a back row machine pulling the rubber bands towards the user or to do other exercises. The user can also sit down in a chair or other sit-down places and keep this device on the lap and to do back row and other exercises. There would be a separate stand attachment that fits under a bed and has pipe-like stick can come up on one of the sides of the mattress that the device could be inserted into or connected to, to allow for various exercises to be performed on it while sitting in bed, lying in bed or standing, sitting or lying on the bed. There would be a separate stand attachment that can fit under a chair, sofa or any other type of furniture and the device could be attached to it to allow a user sitting or lying on the sofa or standing or sitting or lying near the sofa or chair to do exercises on it.
In an embodiment, the device can be used to do pushups while sitting in a chair while the device is attached to the user or taken off and can be attached to the chair on the back of the chair. While used on the bed or on the chair, there could be a special attachment to it, that could be a stand for a laptop, a phone, or another similar device that the user can use to type on or watch videos or do any other work. This can be both in bed, on a sofa or on a chair or in front of your desk. The device could attach to the back of the chair, the front of the chair or to be placed into an anchor piece secured by the weight of the chair under the chair. Some of the arm sockets that allow for arms or extenders to be added onto the device would have special blockers made for it that could add soft padding and plug up the holes when not in use both for visual appeal and, to make it smooth. These plugs could be highly visual and could be custom made for the people to allow them to show off what causes they support etc. The uniqueness of this device is that it can serve both as a wearable, but can also be attached to a chair or other similar stationary things and can allow for a unique range of motions, or it could be worn while sitting in the chair.
In an embodiment, each part of the device can be taken apart into multiple parts and then assembled. This would allow for easier storage and transportation in smaller packages. The bars and cages to attach resistance bands could be placed above, below, in front of, behind, on the sides of or at other different location around the body or near the body. They could be all disconnected and connected to each other.
In an embodiment, the backpack exoskeleton would have parts going up significantly or a little bit above the head and below the waist or chest or head close to the feet but not too low to be hitting the ground and it can also extend in front of or behind the user or be above him or on either side of him. This would be an extension of the existing exoskeleton and would allow for other attachments to extend it into the sides, into the front and the back etc. There could also be an extension into a cage creating narrow, wide, forward and back ways to grab onto the bands into all directions. These extensions could fold to be hidden along the backpack to stay out of the way when not in use and extended when it needs to be used as both a backpack and a workout station. The backpack might be removed when the user does not need to use it as a backpack and when the user wants to use it as a work outstation only. There could be a shelf attached on the bottom, the top or in other places and to have multiple.
In an embodiment, there could be other boxes or bags attached to the frame to allow the user to carry a lot more weight and other things when he needs it for training to train with heavier weight as in the yoke or rucking (i.e., carrying a heavy backpack to train) exercise or when he needs to carry more weight and to use it as a larger backpack larger extender or to do both at the same time and to work out at the same time with resistance bands or not.
In an embodiment, the device can be used when the resistance bands from two or more directions are held at the same time or only in one or from one direction. For example, up and down, side and side, front and back or back and side, or all directions etc., and then the exercise would become more complex as each limb is exercised (either leg or hand can be exercised) and the user would get resistance from multiple directions at the same time while the one furthest away from the user's limb would get the maximum exercise as the resistance is greatest, but the type of exercise would be different and would affect the muscles of the body different for better and more interesting results than just using one band at a time, with better results. Also, the user will have an ability to pull the resistance bands into all 360-degrees from different angles on each plane so up-down, side-to-side, and back-and-forth and could also do so diagonally across different planes or axes at the same time. Also, there could be an all-solid design connecting all the rings, cages, or boxes to the device around the body at different distances and vertical axis.
In an embodiment, the device can be thought of as a harness to be worn like a backpack or an actual backpack with a workout station attached to it or in other ways or as a yoke around the user's body and/or around the user's head, and/or neck, or shoulders and or back and/or chest and/or user's arms. The multiple extension arms with a bar or a cage at the end could be moved at the same time to reposition them in a different direction or a different distance or angle. The hard shell and the soft shell and the backpack devices can all have extensions to them to extend them to look like a traditional human or horse yoke that are used to carry water over shoulders, and to extend them in all directions making them longer and taller, and to be able to extend them to attach the resistance bands right to this or to the arms and cages and bars that can be added on to it to extend it even further.
In an embodiment, the device over shoulders can be stretched out to the sides and spring back inwards to fit more comfortably and in a more stable way over chest back and or shoulders. The device can be used as a gym or for physical therapy and can be fitted to connect against the backboard of a bed or other devices and things. The device can be turned into a cross country skiing exercise device, where the user's hands can be connected both in the back and front and do these movements at the same time or can even be connected to resistance bands also into the up and down direction and also into the sides, thereby giving an exercise in all directions and the user can move hands as if pushing off against all directions at the same time in a circular manner. The top portion of the device can be removed to be extended taller or to attach to a holder that is already attached to some wall or ceiling, and bottom can be removed to attach to a stand on the or to extend it and to make it longer downwards. The arm sockets or arm swivels can be attached into all directions on both sides of the bottoms in the front, the bottom on the front on the back and on the top. In an embodiment, a single arm socket or arm swivel could be enough to lock or to extend or to add a single arm into position to start exercising. Alternatively, the user could use two sockets to form a bar or a few to form a cage or to connect a ring or a box like structure that covers a larger area into one or multiple directions allowing for many different grip angles and directions and combinations of hand and leg positions etc., as well as head and body exercises.
In an embodiment, instead of rubber or metal springs, any other material may be used for the resistance band or spring, or strap as different material may be used for different purposes for the bands. A bar, a cage, a box or a circle may be removed and moved onto a different part of the device easily to allow the exercises to continue into a different direction for example front can be switched to the up direction or to the side direction and visa-versa. These might point into the same direction or into opposite or into different direction combinations at the same time for different workouts. There could be many different pieces that form a structure including ‘Y’, ‘U’, ‘T’ and other bi-direction or multi-directional joiners and extenders. Also, there will be other pieces with ending padding, or that create a hook to which straps or belts can be connected to make it more secure and to secure it with a belt or a strap. Some pieces might have extensions, while others might not have extensions and arm sockets depending on how the user wants to assemble his piece and which exercises, they want to focus on for themselves or for the people they are training.
In an embodiment, there can be a 360-degree 3D into all directions using circle or sphere like structures around the device made up of interconnecting rings or circles or arches or a box so that the user may pull in from any direction while he can carry such a structure attached to his device that the user is wearing on his body. There might be a different device or adjustment for ladies to account for a different in the chest area between men and women. And in the case of women users, arms might be crisscrossed and connected to each other either to continue to move in an ‘X’ like structure or to be taken apart to create more structure and stability or for other reasons. Arches might also be interconnected and crossed in such a way and one arch might be plugged into one side of the device and the other might be plugged into the other part of the device for stability. Alternatively, one arch might be plugged into one of the arm sockets and another could be plugged into an arm socket on a different piece to form stronger structures of different shapes including a honeycomb structure.
In an embodiment, multiple extension arms might cross each other and connect at a single point to form stronger super structures or can be bundled together to provide stronger support or resistance. The two pieces of each going over each shoulder could be connected to each other with rigid pieces or with belts or material such as elastic bands to provide more comfort when pressed against the body, or other material that stretches or does not stretch and provides help to be softer against the body, and to be more snug and a better fit or to be a better structure and to be more stable or both, this can be different combinations in the front back and on the sides as well as a piece where a traditional yoke would go around the lower neck upper central back area.
In an embodiment, variation of the device is soft or hard straps that hang over the shoulders and support a structure of boxes rectangles or rings interconnected into a solid structure between itself, and thus having a simple set of bars around the user and above their head they can attach rubber bands or resistance bands to extension arms on the backpack version and other versions can be either removed or folded in to hide them and to keep them out of the way and to keep the device smaller both when the user wears it and to carry it or store it. Further, these can be extended to allow to have longer distance from the body for resistance bands and to create different directions or different angles.
In an embodiment, the backpackers might walk for many months at a time across the wilderness or cities for travel and workout their legs a lot from walking, but their upper body remains not as worked out and much weaker. The proposed device or an attachment to the existing backpack of the user or using a conversion kit or the proposed backpack with a built-in workout station allows the users to work out their upper body with pull ups, pull downs, back and reverse flies, shrugs, pushups, and other exercises.
In an embodiment, pull-ups training remains an important exercise to judge fitness. The proposed device allows soldiers to be trained to do pull ups and other exercises while walking, standing or running with our backpack or our conversion kit attached to their existing backpack, thereby allowing them to train the most important exercise for them, like the pull up or pull down and numerous other exercises without having to go to any special work out station.
In an embodiment, shelves and additional backpack bags can be added to the bottom and to the top of the extension to allow our backpack to carry more weight or to even have someone sitting on it while a user is working out, especially someone who is a heavy weight athlete working out with the proposed device. Further, the proposed device allows a user to replace a yoke chain walk and to have their body work out from carrying the extra weight and the pull down that their own hands are putting on the machine and on their core muscles.
In an embodiment, the proposed device also allows a user to work out their feet and legs by connecting the resistance band to his/her feet or holding them with their feet shoes etc. This creates a number of unique stretches and leg positions and allows a user to do a number of exercises with legs and resistance bands that are otherwise not doable without a stationary machine that the user can tie the resistance bands to.
In an embodiment, the device can serve as attachments to a squat bar or a squat harness and extension arms or extension arches or extension cages can be attached to the pins sticking out from the squat bar or a squat harness and can be extended up above the user, or towards the front or the back of the user or to the sides of the user or at the bottom or below the torso of the user and resistance bands or other resistance or spring like extensions can be attached to the ends of the extensions allowing for pulling or other angle exercises like pull downs, pull overs, rows and others towards the body of the user, allowing the users who already own a squat harness to do other exercises than just squats with that squat harness
A part of the proposed device can be worn as a mobile but also can be taken off and attached to and serve as an attachment for any type of vehicles like cars, trucks, go-carts, trailers, RVs, military vehicles etc., and any type of bicycles, mopeds, and motorcycles and even for planes and plane seats for pilots or passengers, which allows them to turn both the seats and the insides of vehicles and to attach to the outside of most vehicles, the device and its extensions to turn them into workout station, be able to do exercises they could not do before without the proposed device. Further, device can be attached to the seat of the car or to the head rest or under the seat of the user seating in the seat. The device can also go above the head on the sides of the user in the back of the seat or in front of the user to allow for different exercises while sitting on the front or the back seats in the vehicle. The device can also be attached to the frame of the bicycle or a motorcycle or to the various parts of any vehicle such as the body, the bars on top of the vehicle designed for carrying things and to other locations and to turn both the inside and the outside of such a vehicle into a workout station.
The device can be fully collapsible and can be moved out of the way to not interfere with the basic operations of the vehicle, bicycle, motorcycle etc., while in regular use, and can be pulled out when the user wants to work out. The attachments to the seat in front of the user may be used to work out while sitting in the back of it. Moreover, the device is highly useful on plane flights, where passengers need to have a way to work out and to exercise to get the user's blood flowing and this can allow them to do different types of exercises without disturbing anyone. The device can also be attached to the head to allow the head to work out in all directions to work out the neck. Also, the device allows to work out core muscles with some of the movements such as squeezing stomach muscles and core and pressing the chest downwards while holding resistance bands close to your shoulders and chest with both hands. The extension device can be attached to any type of backpack, both that has an external exo-skeletal or an internal structure under the bag material.
The device can be placed on the ground, bed, couch, chair etc., or can be attached to a mattress or other decides or extensions and or stands and could be used for some other exercises as a stationary device as well, but the main benefit of the device is that certain exercises that previously could not be performed without being attached to an anchor can now be performed while the uses is walking, running or moving about, and not just easily transported from one spot to another and then used as a stationary device. The device can be a mobile or worn device that the user can wear and use and exercise with while moving about indoor or outdoor.
While some exercises can be done today using other wearables, or by strapping a resistance band around user's neck, back or body, our device allows for better angles and better positioning of the limbs, arms, hands, feet and legs and to target the muscles in a better way.
While some exercises can be done today by holding the resistance band in one hand and by pulling the resistance band towards the body using the other hand, this is inconvenient, does not allow the user to train or to exercise both hands or both arms at the same time, and or does not allow to target a muscle group better, and or does not allow certain and better angles or positioning of the limbs for the exercise and or does not allow for the user to train only this specific muscle group without having to also train another muscle group as usually by simply holding the resistance band in their hand the user is also training the opposite muscle group, even though that is not what they plan to work out while doing this exercise, thus the proposed device is significantly more beneficial in allowing the user to exercise both arms at the same time, and even if only one arm is used, it is still beneficial as the user can concentrate on only the muscle group that they wish to train, and to isolate that muscle group or those muscle groups with the exercise.
The material of the device could be a combination of various hard and soft materials including but not limited to wood, plastic, metal, etc., and the straps or resistance band could be any type of soft or hard materials including but not limited to cloth, rubber, nylon, metal springs and other types of tension creating flexible things.
The extensions from the wearable can be arms or single sticks that connect to a single point and extend outwards, bars or arches that connect to two points, or cages that connect to three, four or more points on the wearable device and extend outwards to provide one or numerous locations for the resistance bands to be attached to, to provide for different angles of a pulling or other exercise motion from the extension towards the body or away from the body.
The extension from the wearable can swivel and can collapse and be held against the wearable, to make it easier to carry or to wear it with it not interfering with the user regular walk, standing or other activities and they can be extended outwards from the wearable for easy access to exercise and can convert from a backpack or from a harness to an exercise device with extended arms, cages or arches or bars and back into a harness or a backpack.
The entire device and its extensions and attachments can be disassembled for easy storage or carrying and can be reattached into a wearable with extension arms that can be kept separately or attached in the direction they are needed and multiple direction attachments might be attached and extended at the same time to allow the user to work out and to do exercises in and from all directions up down front back and to either and both of the sides.
The embodiment can allow both legs and hands (all limbs) to attach or to hold a resistance band attached to the device extension to allow that limb to exercise. An embodiment of a shoulder pads or a body armor like structure where arms extend out from it to protect the body while also providing exercises.
