Claims
- 1. An antenna apparatus comprising:a dielectric lens having a focal plane, the focal plane of the dielectric lens being outside the dielectric lens; and a primary radiator disposed outside the volume defined by the dielectric lens, the dielectric lens and primary radiator having a relative positional relationship, the dielectric lens having a convex surface, which convex surface faces away from the primary radiator, wherein the dielectric lens and the primary radiator are arranged so that the relative position relationship of the primary radiator within the focal plane of the dielectric lens is changeable.
- 2. An antenna apparatus comprising:a dielectric lens having a center axis and a focal plane, the focal plane of the dielectric lens being outside the dielectric lens; and a primary radiator disposed outside the volume defined by the dielectric lens, the center axis of the dielectric lens and the primary radiator having a relative angular relationship, wherein the dielectric lens is arranged so that the relative angular relationship of the center axis of the dielectric lens with respect to the primary radiator is changeable, said relative angular relationship being changeable by moving the dielectric lens.
- 3. A transmission and receiving apparatus comprising:an antenna apparatus having a dielectric lens and a primary radiator, the dielectric lens and primary radiator having a relative positional relationship, the dielectric lens having a focal plane, the focal plane of the dielectric lens being outside the dielectric lens, wherein the dielectric lens and the primary radiator are arranged so that the relative positional relationship of the primary radiator within the focal plane of the dielectric lens is changeable, and further comprising: the dielectric lens having a convex surface, which convex surface faces away from the primary radiator; a driving section for changing the relative positional relationship between said dielectric lens and said primary radiator, and further wherein said primary radiator comprises a first dielectric line serving a an input/output section, a dielectric resonator coupled to the first dielectric Line, and an opening section from which an electromagnetic wave is at least one of radiated and received in an axial direction, a second dielectric line being provided adjacent said first dielectric line to form a directional coupler having an amount of coupling, the relative positional relationship between said dielectric lens and said primary radiator being changed by varying the amount of coupling in a coupled section of the first and second dielectric lines.
- 4. The transmission and receiving apparatus according to claim 3, wherein the driving section is coupled to the primary radiator for moving the primary radiator.
- 5. The transmission and receiving apparatus according to claim 3, wherein the driving section is coupled to the dielectric lens for moving the dielectric lens.
- 6. The transmission and receiving apparatus according to claim 3, wherein the driving section allows the relative positional relationship between the dielectric lens and the primary radiator to be changed in two dimensions.
- 7. A transmission and receiving apparatus comprising:an antenna apparatus having a dielectric lens and a primary radiator disposed outside the volume defined by the dielectric lens, the dielectric lens having a center axis and a focal plane, the focal plane of the dielectric lens being outside the dielectric lens, the center axis of the dielectric lens and the primary radiator having a relative angular relationship, wherein the dielectric lens is arranged so that the relative angular relationship of the center axis of the dielectric lens with respect to the primary radiator is changeable, said relative angular relationship being changeable by moving the dielectric lens and further comprising: a driving section for changing the relative angular relationship of the center axis of the dielectric lens with respect to the primary radiator.
- 8. The transmission and receiving apparatus according to claim 7, wherein the driving section is coupled to the primary radiator for moving the primary radiator.
- 9. The transmission and receiving apparatus according to claim 7, wherein the driving section is coupled to the dielectric lens for moving the dielectric lens.
- 10. The transmission and receiving apparatus according to claim 7, wherein the driving section allows the relative angular relationship of the center axis of the dielectric lens with respect to the primary radiator to be changed in two dimensions.
- 11. An antenna apparatus comprising:a dielectric lens having a focal plane; and a primary radiator, the dielectric lens and primary radiator having a relative positional relationship, wherein the dielectric lens and the primary radiator are arranged so that the relative positional relationship of the primary radiator within the focal plane of the dielectric lens is changeable, wherein said primary radiator comprises a first dielectric line serving as an input/outut section, a resonator coupled to the first dielectric line, and an opening setion from which an electromagnetic wave is at least one of radiated and received in an axial direction, a second dielectric line being provided adjacent said first dielectric line to form a directional coupler having an amount of coupling, the relative positional relationship between said dielectric lens and said primary radiator being changed by varying the amount of coupling in a coupled section of the first and second dielectric lines.
- 12. The antenna apparatus according to claim 11, wherein the amount of coupling of said directional coupler is approximately 0 dB.
- 13. The antenna apparatus according to claim 11, wherein said dielectric line is made of non-radiative dielectric.
- 14. The antenna apparatus according to claim 11, wherein a transmission section, a receiving section and a circulator for separating a transmission signal and a received signal are connected to said second dielectric line so that the antenna apparatus is used for both transmission and reception.
- 15. An antenna apparatus comprising:a dielectric lens having a focal plane; and a primary radiator, the dielectric lens and primary radiator having a relative positional relationship, wherein the dielectric lens and the primary radiator are arranged so that the relative positional relationship of the primary radiator within the focal plane of the dielectric lens is changeable, a tilt angle of a radiation beam can be changed according to a change of the relative positional relationship of the primary radiator with respect to the dielectric lens, wherein a first dielectric line serving as an input/output section and a second dielectric line provided adjacent said first dielectric line comprise a directional coupler, further comprising a device for changing the relative positional relationship between said dielectric lens and said primary radiator by moving the first dielectric line and the primary radiator keeping coupling between the first dielectric line and the second dielectric line.
- 16. The antenna apparatus according to claim 15, wherein the amount of coupling of said directional coupler is approximately 0 dB.
- 17. The antenna apparatus according to claim 15, wherein said dielectric line is made of non-radiative dielectric.
- 18. The antenna apparatus according to claim 15, wherein a transmission section, a receiving section and a circulator for separating a transmission signal and a received signal are connected to said second dielectric line so that the antenna apparatus is used for both transmission and reception.
- 19. A transmission and receiving apparatus comprising:a transmission and receiving circuit; an antenna coupled to the transmission and receiving circuit the antenna comprising: a dielectric lens having a focal plane; and a primary radiator, the dielectric lens and primary radiator having a relative positional relationship, wherein the dielectric lens and the primary radiator are arranged so that the relative positional relationship of the primary radiator within the focal plane of the dielectric lens is changeable, wherein said primary radiator comprises a first dielectric line serving as an input/output section, a resonator coupled to the first dielectric line, and an opening section from which an electromagnetic wave is at least one of radiated and received in an axial direction, a second dielectric line being provided adjacent said first dielectric line to form a directional coupler having an amount of coupling, the relative positional relationship between said dielectric lens and said primary radiator being changed by varying the amount of coupling in a coupled section of the first and second dielectric lines; and a driving section for changing the relative positional relationship between said dielectric lens and said primary radiator.
- 20. A transmission and receiving apparatus comprising:a transmission and receiving circuit; an antenna coupled to the transmission and receiving circuit the antenna comprising: a dielectric lens having a focal plane; and a primary radiator disposed outside the volume defined by the dielectric lens, the dielectric lens and primary radiator having a relative positional relationship, wherein the dielectric lens and the primary radiator are arranged so that the relative positional relationship of the primary radiator within the focal plane of the dielectric lens is changeable, a tilt angle of a radiation beam can be changed according to a change of the relative positional relationship of the primary radiator with respect to the dielectric lens, wherein a first dielectric line serving as an input/output section and a second dielectric line provided adjacent said first dielectric line comprise a directional coupler, further comprising a device for changing the relative positional relationship between said dielectric lens and said primary radiator by moving the first dielectric line and the primary radiator keeping coupling between the first dielectric line and the second dielectric line; and a driving section for changing the relative positional relationship between said dielectric lens and said primary radiator.
- 21. An antenna apparatus comprising:a dielectric lens; a primary radiator, the dielectric lens and the primary radiator having relative positional relationship; and a dielectric-line apparatus comprising a dielectric line, wherein the dielectric lens and the primary radiator are arranged so that the relative position relationship of the primary radiator and the dielectric lens is changeable, and wherein the primary radiator and the dielectric-line apparatus are arranged so as to form a direction coupler.
