Claims
- 1. An antenna shielding method and system that eliminates unwanted interference between collocated antennas being used in a high speed wireless system comprising:
a first antenna; a second antenna; said first antenna collocated with said second antenna such that the aperture of said first antenna faces in the generally opposite direction as the aperture of said second antenna; a sheet of shielding material having a perimeter greater than the perimeter of the aperture of said first antenna; said sheet of shielding material being placed behind said first antenna; and, said first antenna being collocated behind said second antenna such that said sheet of shielding material is sandwiched between said first and second antennas.
- 2. An antenna shielding method and system according to claim 1 wherein said sheet of shielding material is constructed of mild steel.
- 3. An antenna shielding method and system that eliminates unwanted interference between collocated antennas being used in a high speed wireless system comprising:
two or more antennas placed adjacent to one another in a generally horizontal configuration resulting in at least one adjacent antenna pair; one or more sheets of shielding material; and, said one or more sheets of shielding material being placed in a generally perpendicular plane intersecting a line between the apertures of each said adjacent antenna pair.
- 4. An antenna shielding method and system according to claim 3 wherein said one or more sheets of shielding material is constructed of mild steel.
- 5. An antenna shielding method and system according to claim 4 wherein said one or more sheets of shielding material extends beyond the front of the apertures of said adjacent antenna pair by at least approximately four inches.
- 6. An antenna shielding method and system according to claim 5 wherein each of said one or more sheets of shielding material is placed between the apertures of each said adjacent antenna pair such that each of said one or more sheets of shielding material is not closer than at least approximately five inches to the apertures of said adjacent antenna pair.
- 7. An antenna shielding method and system according to claim 3 wherein said two or more horizontally placed antennas are placed in a generally curved horizontal configuration.
- 8. An antenna shielding method and system according to claim 7 wherein said one or more sheets of shielding material is constructed of mild steel.
- 9. An antenna shielding method and system according to claim 8 wherein said one or more sheets of shielding material extends beyond the front of the apertures of said adjacent antenna pair by at least approximately four inches.
- 10. An antenna shielding method and system according to claim 9 wherein each of said one or more sheets of shielding material is placed between the apertures of each said adjacent antenna pair such that each of said one or more sheets of shielding material is not closer than at least approximately five inches to the apertures of said adjacent antenna pair.
- 11. An antenna shielding method and system that eliminates unwanted interference between collocated antennas being used in a high speed wireless system comprising:
two or more antennas mounted adjacent to one another in a generally vertical configuration resulting in at least one adjacent antenna pair; one or more sheets of shielding material; and said one or more sheets of shielding material being placed in a generally perpendicular plane intersecting a line between the apertures of each said adjacent antenna pair.
- 12. An antenna shielding method and system according to claim 11 wherein said one or more sheets of shielding material is constructed of mild steel.
- 13. An antenna shielding method and system according to claim 12 wherein said one or more sheets of shielding material extends beyond the front of the apertures of said adjacent antenna pair by at least approximately four inches.
- 14. An antenna shielding method and system according to claim 13 wherein each of said one or more sheets of shielding material is placed between the apertures of each said adjacent antenna pair such that each of said one or more sheets of shielding material is not closer than at least approximately five inches to the apertures of said adjacent antenna pair.
- 15. An antenna shielding method and system that eliminates unwanted interference between collocated antennas being used in a high speed wireless system comprising:
two or more collocated antennas; and each antenna of said two or more collocated antennas being enclosed in a shielding material box having side walls and a back wall and one open side corresponding to the aperture of said each antenna.
- 16. An antenna shielding method and system according to claim 15 wherein said shielding material box is constructed of mild steel.
- 17. An antenna shielding method and system according to claim 16 wherein said each antenna is placed inside said shielding material box such that at least approximately a five inch gap is maintained from the aperture of said each antenna to said side walls of said shielding material box.
- 18. An antenna shielding method and system according to claim 17 wherein said each antenna is placed inside said shielding material box such that said one open side of said shielding material box is at least approximately four inches in front of the aperture of said each antenna placed within said shielding material box.
