Claims
- 1. A support device for use with a dental chair comprising:
a rest against which a user can lean to relieve back stress; a first arm operatively coupled at a first end to the rest; and a second arm operatively coupled at a first end to the first arm and at a second end to the dental chair, wherein the arms enable an angle of the rest, a height of the rest, and a position of the rest with respect to the chair to be adjusted.
- 2. The support device of claim 1 wherein the rest includes padding.
- 3. The support device of claim 2 wherein an amount of padding can be adjusted.
- 4. The support device of claim 1 further comprising a pivot device that enables the angle of the rest to be adjusted.
- 5. The support device of claim 4 wherein the rest is attached to a first pivot point at a first end of the pivot device.
- 6. The support device of claim 4 wherein the first end of the first arm is attached to a second pivot point at a second end of the pivot device.
- 7. The support device of claim 4 wherein at least one fastener is provided to allow the rest to be locked in a desired position.
- 8. The support device of claim 1 wherein the second end of the first arm is provided with a slot.
- 9. The support device of claim 8 wherein the first end of the second arm is provided with a pair of guiding rails.
- 10. The support device of claim 9 wherein the second end of the first arm mates with the guiding rails of the second arm.
- 11. The support device of claim 10 wherein a fastener is provided through the slot of the first arm and between the rails of the second arm to maintain the desired height of the device.
- 12. The support device of claim 1 wherein the second end of the second arm is operatively coupled to the dental chair via a rotatable base.
- 13. The support device of claim 12 wherein the rotatable base enables the second arm to be rotated from one side of the dental chair to the other side.
- 14. The support device of claim 12 wherein the rotatable base allows the second arm to be locked in a desired position.
- 15. The support device of claim 12 wherein the rotatable base enables the second arm to be rotated up to 120 degrees.
- 16. The support device of claim 12 wherein the rotatable base is attached to a back of the dental chair.
- 17. The support device of claim 1 wherein the second end of the second arm is operatively coupled to the dental chair via a mounting plate.
- 18. The support device of claim 17 wherein the mounting plate is attached to a back of the chair via a plurality of fasteners.
- 19. The support device of claim 1 wherein the second end of the second arm is provided with a slot.
- 20. The support device of claim 19 wherein a fastener is provided through the slot of the second arm.
- 21. The support device of claim 20 wherein the fastener allows the second arm to be locked in a desired position.
- 22. The support device of claim 20 wherein the cooperation between the slot in the second arm and the fastener enables the second arm to be rotated up to 120 degrees.
- 23. The support device of claim 20 wherein the cooperation of the slot in the second arm and the fastener enables the second arm to maintain a desired height of the device.
