Abstract
The present invention relates to a pumping device for inflating a tube or pumping oil behind pistons in particular hydraulic fluids, such as break fluids or compressed air. The systems use an electro hydraulic pump, a hydraulic hose and pistons or an air compressor and an air tank. The pumping device can run on a hydraulic or on a pneumatic system. These systems have space to accommodate hydraulic fluid or compressed air and are connected to the hydraulic pump or tank. The electro hydraulic pump is connected to the hydraulic piston unit by a hydraulic hose. A center post mounted behind the door latch supports the electro hydraulic piston unit. The air compressor is connected to the air tank by an air hose. The air tank is connected to the tube unit by an air hose, which is supported by a center post behind the door latch. Both the hydraulic and pneumatic systems comprise a front impact sensor mounted on the front bumper of the vehicle and a rear impact sensor mounted on the rear bumper and an electrical switch. Both the hydraulic and pneumatic systems comprise a control switch, which can be mounted on the door handles or on the dashboard. The switch can only be activated by an impact. Then a passenger can trigger the system by pulling the handle or pushing a button on the dashboard.
Description

This is a synopsis of a revolutionary safety device that instantly deploys form the body of any vehicle after an accident (rear ended rollover inversion). ADJ protects the occupant from being locked up inside the vehicle. It is intended for use in cars, trucks, and other vehicles with doors. It can also be applied to any other type of door or gate.

INTRODUCTION

All Terrain vehicles (ATVs): Cars, trucks, airplanes, trains, and other means of transportation equipped with doors. This invention can also be used in any other type of door. The premise of the installation of the Anti-Door Jam (ADJ) will be designed into the original vehicle. To maintain the structural integrity of the system, it will be offered as an optional retrofit, so any customer can install the kit on his/her vehicle.

The ADJ was designed to save lives and prevent serious injuries in the event of a catastrophic accident. In the event of a rear ended rollover or inverted motor vehicle accident, the ADJ will instantly activate itself and in the split of a second, the two impact sensor switches located at the front and rear of the bumpers will trigger a warning signal in the form of a buzz or light. As soon as the warning signal goes off, the driver can pull the door handle and turn the electro hydraulic pump switch on. This is a safety feature, as it will stop the system from turning itself on and damaging the door. The ADJ will instantly deploy (like a hydraulic piston) the latch to prevent being trapped in a car and prevent death by fire. It can be used in any motor vehicle equipped with doors.

Operational Review

The ADJ is envisaged as an electro hydraulic pump twin hydraulic piston, joined and slid the small piston in the bigger piston (this will give more space) and will be located behind each door latch. The device is operated hydraulically or pneumatically and the ADJ will have impact sensors to activate the system and be ready for the driver to turn the switch on. Once the switch is on, the electro hydraulic pump will pump the hydraulic fluid behind the two pistons. This will push the jammed door open. Alternatively, air pressure from the air tank and compressor (similar as when you inflate a tire) can be used to push the door open.

Device Safety:

Accidental deployment of the ADJ is unlikely. The electronic sensors or impact sensor switches are not activated. The system is unable to work unless there is an accident.

Maintenance:

The ADJ does not require scheduled or ongoing maintenance. Once installed, it must be bled like any hydraulic system, which requires no air in the system. It will not require any other kind of maintenance before the device has been used.

Materials:

Materials will be of the highest quality and will be selected at the time of the design.

Design and Drawings

ADJ assembly drawings are attached. Detailed drawings are required and will be produced for both manufacturing and installation.

The total weight of the system will be considered in its design and implementation. Once materials and components are selected, the changes to be made will be determined.

DESCRIPTION

The present invention relates to a pumping device, pumping fluids or compressed air, in particular hydraulic fluids or compressed air. In the case of hydraulic fluids, it comprises a hydraulic pump, hydraulic pistons and a hydraulic hose, which are connected to a chamber behind the pistons. In the case of compressed air, it comprises an air compressor, an air tank, and air hose, an air valve, an actuator, and a tube. Both hydraulic and pneumatic systems comprise impact sensors and switches. The advantage of this system is that there is an option to use hydraulic or pneumatic systems, which will accommodate to the design of the vehicles. This way, the systems will made of pre-fabricated systems built in the vehicle.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Opening jammed doors is important. For example, when there is a car accident there are different risk factors that can happen in a split of a second after a collision or catastrophic accident. Vehicles can explode or go in flames. One disadvantage of the currently known and used car safety devices is that none of them save occupants from being trapped in the car. With the help of the ADJ, occupants are able to open jammed doors in a split of a second.

OBJECTIVES OF THE INVENTION

The objective of the present invention is to open jammed doors in such a way and speed as to decrease the danger of further damage to occupants by remaining in the vehicle after a collision or catastrophic accident.

This objective is achieved on the basis of a generic pumping device, which has the option of being hydraulic or pneumatic. The advantage of this option is that it will adapt to any car design allowing vehicle manufacturers to use the existing design avoiding extra costs. Another advantage is that the ADJ can come in a kit for retail purchase and private mechanic can install it in any kind of vehicle.

The recessed piston unit creates a compact system that can be easily mounted in any kind of center post of any vehicle. The design of the piston unit permits easily and reliable installation in addition to offering space and weight advantages.

In particular, the system according to the present invention is suitable for any mean of transportation that can be involved in a collision or catastrophic event. This invention is created in such a way that it gives occupants and third party help such as 911, additional aid. The ADJ gives all occupants the benefit of getting out of the vehicle fast and all the benefits this entails. The ADJ gives third party help the benefit of opening jammed doors by pushing a button or pulling a door handle, when all occupants in the vehicle are unconscious, saving time, energy, and lives.

Additional field applications of the pumping device, according to the present invention include installing the device in any kind of door or gate.
